Chapter 4 CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION This chapter deals with the conclusions and recommendations of the study.

Conclusion Generally, the extent of child labor among children in Brgy. 40, Bacolod City in terms of age, sex and educational attainment was high. When age and sex was considered as a variable the age has significantly affected the assessment of the children, however, no significant difference is found in the extent of child labor when they were grouped according to sex. Recommendations The following recommendations are suggested according to the findings and conclusions of the study. 1. Government Agencies. Since the extent of child labor among children in Brgy. 40, Bacolod City was high, it is suggested that government agencies should provide programs and services like values formation activities, skills improvement and other services that can assist children engages in child labor. It is also suggested that they should provide educational assistance which is needed to uplift their living. 2. Non-government Agencies. NGO may coordinate to the local government units (LGUs) to secure the welfare of the children most especially those children who engaged in child labor. 3. Social Workers. The social workers have a big role in the lives of the children engage in child labor. Thus, it is suggested that social workers must equip themselves with knowledge, awareness and skills on dealing with the children engages in child labor. It is also suggested that the social workers must see to it that the rights and safety of children engaging in child labor is being address and protected. 4. Parents. It is suggested that the parents of the children engages in child labor must be responsible in providing bio-psychosocial needs to their children. It is also suggested that they should support their children in order to discontinue in engaging in child labor. They must show love, care and attention to their children. 5. Children engages in child labor. Since the extent of child labor among children in Brgy. 40, Bacolod City was high, therefore we recommended that they sought assistance to the local government units for their guidelines about R, A 9231. 6. Employers. It is suggested that they must provide privileges to the children employed to them. It is also suggested that they must ensure the safety and security as well as the physiological aspect of the chid.It is also suggested that they must ensure working permit from the Department of Labor and Employment.

7. Residents of Bacolod City/ Philippines. The residents of the Bacolod City as well as all over the country may equip themselves on existing laws and information regarding children engaging in child labor. It is also suggested that they will disseminate information starting on their barangay where they reside so that they will be aware on the rights of the child labors. 8. Future Researchers. The future researchers may be motivated to conduct more investigations regarding child labor using other participants and methods.
