QUALIFICATIONS: (For the Posts of Principal) Essential: i) Doctorate degree with a first class degree at Bachelors or Masters level in Civil Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Information Technology/Computer Science & Engineering/Electronics & Tele-Communication Engineering [for the post at A(i)] and in Leather Technology/Information Technology/Computer Science & Engineering [for the post at A(ii)]. In addition, a candidate should be an eminent person in the field. (ii) Fifteen years experience in Teaching/Research/Industry out of which 5 years must be at the level of Professor in Engineering/Technology. NOTE : Candidates from Industry/Profession with Masters degree in Engineering/Technology and with professional work which is significant and with 15 years experience of which at least 5 years should be at a Senior Level, would also be eligible.

DESIRABLE: Administrative experience in a responsible position. For the posts of Professor : Essential : i) Doctorate degree with a first class degree at Bachelors or Masters Level in the appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology; ii) 10 (ten) years experience in Teaching/Research/Industry out of which 5 years must be at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent. The prescribed essential qualifications are the minimum and mere possession of the same does not entitle applicants to be called in for the interview. Where the number of applications received in response to the advertisement is large and it is not convenient or possible for the Commission to interview all the applicants the Commission may restrict the number of candidates for interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement or on the basis of a Screening Test /Written Test . In cases where no Division/Class is awarded and only grading is done, exact percentage of marks and conversion formula adopted are to be mentioned with documentary evidence. Where experience of a number of years is prescribed as an item of qualification this would mean only experience/research experience gained in full time employment/research.
