com July 1, 2013 Lutheran Senior Services Meridian Village 27 Auerbach Place, Glen Carbon, IL 62034 Dear Sir/Ma, I heard about your job opening with great interest and enthusiasm, as my skills and qualifications match your requirements for this position. My friend, Mrs. Benny Odemerho, who previously worked at this Home referred me, therefore, I am submitting my resume for your review and consideration. As a nursing student, I have obtained clinical care giving experiences at hospitals and nursing homes. I spent the first two months of this year performing my assigned clinical rotation at St. Lukes Surrey Place in Chesterfield, MO. and had an intense one-on-one experience taking care of the elderly residents I was assigned to daily which was an interesting experience. At my recent on-campus job, I was a student maintenance worker, and my duties were that of custodial services which comprises cleaning, dusting, laundry, and vacuuming amongst others, which also meet the requirements for this position. Moreover, being compassionate and taking care of people comes naturally to me, and that is why I want to be a nurse, and more specifically a geriatric nurse, because I have so much passion for the elderly. I feel this job will provide me with more opportunities to work with senior citizens and enable me utilize my interpersonal skills, which I would direct towards maintaining constructive relationships with your residents, and my colleagues. I have also gained experience volunteering at the University & Nursing Rehabilitation Center whereby I helped elderly clients during activities and provided companionship to them. I have learned to work as part of a team and also independently; been able to set and meet goals, while acquiring the maturity and self-motivation needed to work in an unsupervised environment. I have the ability to rapidly learn new tasks, and stick to time. Taking care of people is my top priority; in everything I do, I want to offer a friendly service and identify the needs of the clients to help create a positive experience that exceeds their expectations. As a quick learner, I will add value to LSS in next to no time as I remain calm under pressure and adapt to meet the unique needs of every individual. Best of all, I am very keen and ready to start work immediately, and I would welcome the opportunity for an interview at your convenience. I appreciate you taking the time to review my credentials and experience. Again, thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, Iyeokan Ativie.
