Selection Its a process by which the qualified personnel can be selected by the employer.

Recruitment process It depends on the company criteria. 1. Identify vacancy 2. Prepare job description and person specification 3. Advertising the vacancy 4. Managing the response 5. Short-listing 6. Staffing The selection and training of individuals for specific job functions, and charging them with the associated responsibilities.

Recruitment comes first after that seletion and then staffing.

KSAO model is a competency model of individual. KSAO is the same KSA model.

KSAO include Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other characteristics (also called KSAOs model) that an applicant must have to perform successfully in the position. 2. Components of KSAO:

Knowledge is a body of information that can be applied directly to the performance of tasks

Skills: The proficient manual, verbal, or mental manipulation of people, ideas, or things

Abilities: The present power to perform a job function, to carry through with the activity while applying or using the associated knowledge.

Other characteristics: A general category for other personal factors such as

personality, willingness, interest, and motivation and such tangible factors as licenses, degrees, and years of experience.
