    The APPS_TS_TX_DATA and APPS_TS_TX_IDX tablespaces were increasing in size due to the XLA_DIAG_SOURCES and XLA_DIAG_EVENTS tables logging SLA diagnostic data. Truncating these tables removed the data and freed up space. Turning off the "SLA: Diagnostics Enabled" profile option prevented further growth. Checking the tables, tablespaces, and archive logs after confirmed the issue was resolved.

    Categories: Tablespace and Datafiles by Sekhar November 9, 2012 The following tables are keep on growing a lot APPS_TS_TX_DATA and APPS_TS_TX_IDX.Moreover archive logs are hugly generating even though transactions are not running on instance. After some research we identified that XLA_DIAG_SOURCES table is taking most of the space in APPS_TS_TX_DATA tablespace .This is happened SLA diagnostics are enabled, so every SLA activity will log information into the XLA_DIAG_SOURCES and XLA_DIAG_EVENTS tables. These XLA_DIAG_SOURCES and XLA_DIAG_EVENTS tables keep diagnostic data. You can delete or truncate this data once your identified the issue. You can also regenerate these tables once you set the profile options again. Solution: Step1: You can truncate these tables for deleting entire data without any back up.The truncate is more faster compare to delete command because data in the table is not write to roll back segments.
    1 2 SQL>truncate table xla.XLA_DIAG_SOURCES; SQL>truncate table xla.XLA_DIAG_EVENTS;

    Step2: Turn OFF the SLA: Diagnostics Enabled profile option at all levels. Step3: Check the tables, tablespace and archive logs status
