CHAPTER 3

METHODOLOGY

3.1

Overview

Methodology is a kind of technique, method that is used to analysis, to minimize the needs and design the system that needs to be executed. It is a suitable approach and the project scope also is important to make sure that the process and designing project can be implemented or executed smoothly and systematically. There are various ways in which research can be done. It is initiated against the background of organizational studies to find out the suitability of the proposed system with the organization. Further interviews with senior management or key employees of the organization to find out how the current system operates and the problems faced either of the current system or from the environment. Other than that, the process involved should also be known to start from the beginning until the end of the process Apart from the interview, other techniques are also used to equip information to be obtained. Among them, reading techniques were also used to better understand the proposed system, particularly matters involving technology used on the system proposed. The methodology that has been choosing to develop this system is Prototyping. Prototyping is where we will develop a prototype first rather build the actual system. It is intended to help users visualize the system built. Based on user comments, the next prototype continuously built until it can visualize the real working system.

The next step would implement the real system. It is best if possible to do through analysis before developers start working on the first prototype system.

Planning Phase The planning phase is the phase where the restaurant owner and developer discuss and agree on business requirements, project scope, constraints, and requirements system. It ends when the agreement is made on the key issues and management approval to continue. In this phase, some major problems can be identified, namely background problem, objective of the system developed to address the problems identified, the scope of the functioning and potential application users to use the system.

Analysis Phase Phase analysis was conducted to analyse the system requirements. It involves research, development of the system and project planning. This phase also describes the existing system with equivalent systems that lack system could be improved. Things to do in this phase are to analyse the needs of the user and the system developed. This is done to see the effectiveness of the system towards the target. Data flow diagrams which give conceptual benefits for this system and Entity Relationship Diagram made to describe the relationship between entities external to the system that will be produced.

Designing Phase Designing phase system is an elaborate process, to manage and provide structure to the components in the system-level architecture and detailed to give a complete picture of the construction of the proposed system. Among the designs that need to be resolved in this stage include system architecture, system and user interface, database management, and control systems. In this phase, all the software and hardware will be used to design interfaces and database systems. Design module will be developed in accordance with what has been designed. All information has been identified in the analysis process will be used in the system.

Implementation Phase Implementation phase involves the development of a real system in which the development of a program system will be implemented using the appropriate software and system interface software PHP also use Dreamweaver software. Development of a database for the system should be implemented carefully because database is the most important thing to a system to function properly. This phase also involves the process of program testing and system testing. The process of testing is also done so that errors and flaws in the system can be identified and the system can be improved.

Prototype Phase Users will provide feedback and from the feedback received, the system will repeat phase developers design, analysis and implementation of process improvements. Repetition of the process will be repeated until the user is satisfied with the system developed.

Testing Phase Upon completion of the system development in terms of its function, a series of tests are conducted to the user for feedback. Several questions were posed to the users involved in the testing session. Among the questions addressed are centered on the design and function of system interface modules in the system.
