Education and Awards

2010-2014 Bachelors of Science in Physics, Clemson University, Clemson, SC. expected Coursework included a focus on astrophysics, astronomy, and computational physics. 20132014 Sigma Pi Sigma Outstanding Senior in Physics, Clemson University.

Senior Thesis
Title Carbon Monoxoide Spectroscopy Data Reduction Methods and Legacy Software Conversion Description Previously the Creative Inquiry project that was supervised by Dr. Sean Brittain used a collection of IDL and Perl code encapsulating compiled FORTRAN77 code to assist with data reduction of spectroscopic data gathered from the NIRSPEC and PHOENIX instruments for use in carbon monoxide spectroscopy of protoplanetary discs. Previously the installation and setup of these tools was obtrusive and platformdependent. This document details the creation process and maintenance of the scripts and programs necessary to install a working data reduction and research environment.

Extracurriculars
2010-2014 Society of Physics Students, Clemson University, Clemson, SC, President.
Accomplished bringing the Society to an unprecedented level of activity via leading team of students to collaboration with University and department. Constructed infrastructure to facilitate ease of administration for future ocers. Supervised and led several projects to completion. Set up and managed campus outreach projects such as fund-raisers and physics-related events. Collaborated with the Physics department to set up the beginnings of a "buddy" program for acclimating incoming freshmen.

Relevant Coursework
Circuits, Electronics and Experimental Physics, PHYS 325-326.
Constructed circuits using analog and digital components as well as programmable microcontrollers such as the Arduino. Conducted a variety of classical and modern experiments in physics utilizing modern laboratory techniques. Constructed laboratory reports per academic and industrial standards. Wrote academic level papers documenting processes and results.

Stellar and Galactic Astrophysics, ASTR 302-303.

Coursework involved an overview of introductory astrophysics on the stellar, interstellar, and galactic levels. Tied in with relevant research and projects utilizing computer modelling and simulation.

Computational Physics, PHYS 315, Audited.

Learned and demonstrated knowledge of computational methods for physics-related problems. Introduction to multi-threaded cluster computing via usage of the Palmetto cluster. Primarily utilized MatLab.
