COMPARATIVE ADJECTIVES As it is already common known that the adjective is the word that describe to the name or noun. Adjectives in English are not placed in plural, that is, that both in singular and plural they remain the same. And they are used both for masculine and for feminine. The rules for the comparatives are the following: 1. For an adjective with a vowel in the middle, the last consonant is doubled and it is added ER at the end of the word.
o Big (big) grande bigger (bguer) ms grande o Hot (jot) caliente hotter (joter) ms caliente
2. For the adjectives ending in Y but there is a consonant before, change Y by IER.

3. There are others adjectives that dont respect any rules, therefore their spelling is different from the original adjective.
o Good (gud) bueno better (brer) mejor o bad (bad) malo worse (wors) peor o far (far) lejos farther (frder) ms lejos o little (ltl) poco less (les) menos Lic. Resurreccin Norabuena, Jorge
