Stage 1
The Sediment Filter
Stage 2
Activated Carbon Chamber
The water then passes through specially treated silver impregnated activated carbon,
which reduces colour, odour, organic, chemical impurities and chlorine. Silver
impregnation works as a bacteriostatic.
Stage 3
Ultra Violet Chamber
The next stage is when the water is e-boiled in the UV chamber. Eliminating all disease-
causing bacteria, virus and protozoa, while retaining essential minerals and nutrients in the
water.
The water first passes through the Sediment Filter which incorporates a specially
developed multi-layered yarn cartridge (please refer to diagram on page 5). This strains
out physical impurities present in the water such as dust, dirt and mud.

Aquaguard has one more benefit. A unique Intelligent Purity Sensor. This
electronic eye monitors the purification process and stops the flow of
water immediately, if the level of purification is not 100%.

This purity sensor system continuously scans water to give 100%

Auto Shut-off
Automatically switches off the UV lamp if the purifier is not used for
10 minutes, enhancing the life of the UV lamp.
Voltage Stabiliser
The in-built voltage stabiliser, so that your purifier works even during
fluctuating/low voltage.
Step-by-step guide
to pure drinking water
After 5 seconds the yellow LED will glow for around 30 seconds
indicating that the unit is processing water
When the green LED glows, youll hear 3 beeps indicating that
the unit is ready to deliver clear, safe drinking water
If the unit has not been used for a day or two, allow 2-3 glasses
of water to flow out before using the water.
If the unit is not going to be used for more than 3-4 hours,
remember to shut off the main switch and the water supply.
Fit plug into socket. To switch on the unit, press the power ( )
switch. The red LED will glow for 5 seconds indicating that the
power is on
To let the water flow, press the flow ( ) switch. While you fill your
glass you can opt for a pleasant musical tone by pressing
music ( ) switch

Troubleshooting
In case water does not flow when you switch on the Aquaguard Total Classic, the red LED will
blink and an alarm will sound. In this circumstance:
Please check for any disruption in the water supply or main electricity supply to the
Aquaguard Total Classic. If both are not functioning normally, call the Eureka Forbes Service
Centre.
In case of low voltage, the yellow LED will blink and youll hear a beeping sound. Switch off
the unit till the voltage comes back to normal.
Maintaining your
Aquaguard Total Classic
Tips for a long relationship with your Aquaguard Total Classic.
1. The key work is cleanliness
Keep the area around your Aquaguard Total Classic clean and dry. Keep the spout clean
and close it with the cap provided.
2. Keep the Sediment Filter clean
To ensure that it works well, have it thoroughly cleaned by a Eureka Forbes service
technician during every routine service.
3. Activated Carbon
To ensure that the Activated Carbon works effectively, insist on having it thoroughly
cleaned during every service.
4. Back flush the Sediment Filter
Disconnect the EVA tubes from the inlet and outlet of the pre-filter
Connect the tube from the tap to the outlet nozzle
Leave the other nozzle of the pre-filter open
Turn the tap on to maximum pressure and let the water flow for about 10 minutes
Reconnect the inlet and outlet nozzle as before. Do not interchange the inlet and outlet
of the pre-filter as the candle may get clogged.

Important Suggestions
Please do this
When your Aquaguard is not in use, please keep the outlet spout covered
with the cap.
Switch off the main switch when your Aquaguard will not be used for more
than 3-4 hours.
Store water from your Aquaguard in clean containers. For hygienic reasons it
is preferable not to store water for more than 2 days.
We recommend routine check-ups of your Aquaguard at least once in
6 months.
If your Aquaguard has not been used for a long time, allow 2-3 glasses of
water to flow out before collecting the water for use.
Please do not do this
Spill water on any panel of your Aquaguard as this may lead to electric shock.
Store water from your Aquaguard in matkas and candle filters, as the water
can get recontaminated.
Connect ordinary pipes, tubing to the outlet spout to collect water from your
Aquaguard.
Use an extension box for power connection.
Connect hot water supply.
Install your Aquaguard close to a gas stove or cooking range.

Why does Aquaguard use an Anodised Aluminium Chamber?
Anodising is a special process, which helps in increasing the reflectivity of the UV rays. UV
reflectivity of anodised aluminium is 73% as compared to that of stainless steel, which is
only 38%. Enhanced UV reflectivity means better efficiency. Hence, Aquaguard uses
anodised aluminium.
For how long and where should water be stored?
Aquaguard water should be stored in a cool, clean place, preferably in steel or glass
containers. Avoid matkas or filters as they tend to breed bacteria. Ensure that the storage
vessels are rinsed with water from your Aquaguard and the containers are covered with
clean lids. For hygienic reasons, it's preferable to replace the stored water after 2 days.
Does drinking water from an Aquaguard make you lose your natural immunity?
Aquaguard gives you clear, safe drinking water, thus reducing the risk of exposure to
water-borne diseases. It does not affect your body's natural immunity in any way.
Is UV (ultra-violet) light dangerous and is drinking UV treated water harmful?
The Aquaguard ultra-violet chamber is completely enclosed and UV light is not allowed to
escape. In fact, Aquaguard is ISI certified. Moreover, UV light has no residual effect in
water and hence it is totally safe.
Do you need to boil or filter water from an Aquaguard?
Aquaguard is a complete purification system that gives you clear and safe water. There is
no need to boil or filter the water.
Which water purification treatment is most suitable?
This depends largely on the quality of your input water. In most parts of India we have
water contaminated with physical, organic and microbiological impurities. These result in
various water-borne diseases. Aquaguard water purifiers effectively handle all the above
giving you pure and safe water. However, if your water contains high levels of TDS (Total
Dissolved Solids more than 500 mg/litre which can be measured scientifically with a TDS
meter), or the water tastes brackish, then you need an Aquaguard RO water purifier.
