STITCH EXPLANATION:
NOTES:
1. When working in the rnd, do not join at end of rnds and do not turn at beg of rnds.
2. When you see "- 12 sts" in the instructions, this tells you how many sts you should have at the end of
that specific rnd or row.
3. To change color, work last st of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all
loops on hook to complete st. Proceed with new color. Fasten off old color.
sc2tog (sc 2 sts together) Insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn
over, draw through all 3 loops on hook - 1 st decreased.

LOLA
HEAD/BODY
Head
Beg at top of head, with A, ch 2.
Rnd 1 (RS): Work 6 sc in first ch.
Place marker in first st for beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around - 12 sts.
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next st, sc in next st; rep from * around - 18 sts.
Rnd 4: *2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts; rep from * around - 24 sts.
Rnd 5: *2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts; rep from * around - 30 sts.

Stuff piece firmly.

Skirt
Hold the Body upside down, with the Head towards you to work skirt. Join B with a sl st in front loop of any st on Rnd 37 of Body.
Rnd 1 (RS): Ch 1, sc in each of the 48 front loops of Rnd 37.
Place marker in first st for beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnds 2-11: Sc in each st around.
Fasten off.
ARMS (make 2)
Beg at hand, with A, ch 2.
Rnd 1 (RS): Work 5 sc in first ch.
Place marker in first st for beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around - 10 sts.
Rnd 3: Sc in each st around.

With C, ch 6.

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
SMALL CURLS (make 4)
With C, ch 7.
Row 1: Work 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across - 12 sts.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
FINISHING
Note: Use yarn tails for sewing.
Sew Nose to face. With black yarn, embroider a straight st mouth. Sew Hair to head with bangs at center. Roll each Curl into a spiral.
With long tail, sew a few sts through base of spiral to secure. Sew Curls along face edge of Hair, arranging Large and Small Curls as
desired. Stuff Ears lightly, then sew to Head. Sew Arms and Legs to Body.
Eyeglasses
Note: Eyeglasses should not be added if doll is for a child.
Bend the end of one pipe cleaner into a curve. Place curve over one Ear. Bend opposite end of pipe cleaner to curve around opposite Ear,
trimming pipe cleaner length to fit to make Eyeglass frame.
Cut 2 lengths of pipe cleaner, each 3 in. (7.5 cm) long. Bend each length into a semi-circle. With Eyeglass frame on doll, wrap ends of
each length around frame to complete the Eyeglasses.
Weave in ends.
SWEATER
Beg at neck edge, with E, ch 41.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 7 ch, 2 sc in next 4 ch, sc in next 16 ch, 2 sc in next 4 ch, sc in last 8 ch - 48 sts.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in next 10 sts, 2 sc in next 4 sts, sc in next 20 sts, 2 sc in next 4 sts, sc in last 10 sts - 56 sts.
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc in next 11 sts, 2 sc in next 2 sts, sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next 2 sts, sc in next 22 sts, 2 sc in next 2 sts, sc in next
2 sts, 2 sc in next 2 sts, sc in next 11 sts - 64 sts.

Sleeves
Join E with sl st at one armhole, to work in skipped sts of Row 7 of Sweater.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, 2 sc in first st, sc in next 10 sts, 2 sc in last st - 14 sts.
Place marker in first st for beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnds 2-10: Sc in each st around.
Fasten off. Rep for 2nd sleeve.
FINISHING
Weave in ends.
CROCHET BAG
BAG
With D, ch 14.
Row 1: Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across.
Rows 2-18: Ch 2, turn, hdc in each st across.
Fasten off.
FINISHING
Fold Bag in half, bringing first row up to meet last row, and seam sides.
Handle
Join D with sl st in one side at top of Bag. Ch 30; join with sl st in opposite side at top of Bag. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Crochet Hook
Note: Crochet hook should not be included in this project if doll is for a child.
With craft knife, trim and then notch one end of toothpick to make Lola's crochet hook.
Wind scrap yarn into 2 yarn balls. Place yarn balls and crochet hook in Crochet Bag.
