Minimum Requirement - Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 4 to 8 years


of related petrochemical experience preferably from a background in working for consultancy
organizations in the EPC of the Oil and Gas Industry. Scope of Responsibilities - Operate as part of a
team in carrying out detailed engineering work assuming responsibility for conceptual and detailed
design and provide necessary technical information for procurement in compliance with tender

Review the ITB (Invitation to Bid) documents submitted in the
proposals stage, issue inquiry requisitions, review techno-commercial
vendor offers, prepare equipment, material and manhour

Review contract requirements for project execution, organize the
preparation of the Technical Document Register (TDR), identify
requirements and scope of work Review specifications,
Process Data Sheets (PDS), Piping Material Specifications (PMS),
Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Plot plans, General
Arrangement (GA) drawings. Review Philosophies, Area
Classification Drawings, Fire and Gas Detector Layout Drawings and
other relevant documents. Establish contract review criteria, identify
and resolve discrepancies and divergences from original proposal
through the technical queries to projects/client.
Verify scope of work, budgeted man hours, budgeted quantities, total
of deliverables, format of delivery, time schedules, plant layout, stress

Monitor Man-hour requirements during project execution; identify
variations between Contract and proposal. Plan/ Schedule task
assignments, establish target completion dates, ensure target
dates are achieved. Maintain project schedules, ensure allotted man

Apportion work among engineering staff according to specialized

Coordinate material take off (MTO) activities, identify irregularities,
discrepancies and shortfalls, take corrective action as required.
In case of procurement engineering Supervise the preparation of
technical inquiry requests (Inquiry Requisitions) to vendors, participate
in the technical evaluation of vendor bid offers.
Perform Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), review vendor drawings
and documents. Review design calculations, ensure vendor
equipment specifications meet with client equipment specifications
and within budgeted costs.
In case of procurement engineering Administer the preparation of
Purchase Requisitions for the procurement of equipment and
materials. Review vendor quality plans; ensure vendor equipments
compatibility and compliance with the scope of client specifications.
Coordinate
with procurement, to ascertain and expedite despatch of materials
and equipment to site.
Participate in project review meetings ensure the progress of project
in accordance to schedule, allotted man-hours and budgeted costs.
Coordinate with projects and planning departments on
schedule related issues. Update TDR progress reports.
Monitor the preparation of the IFDs Issued for Design and IFCs,
Issued for Construction documents encompassing the support
standard document, plot plans, locations plans, piping
plans, isometrics, material requirements and other related plans and
documents.

Supervise the issuance of engineering deliverables. i.e. isometrics to


site for construction, interface and provide clarification and technical
support to construction and commissioning
personnel. Administer the preparation of the final As Built layouts
and documents.
Ensure compliance with Companys ISO Quality procedures.
Coordinate Internal and Client audit requests; facilitate audit
procedures of engineering systems within the department.
Interface and provide clarification and guidance and technical support
to construction sites and commissioning engineers, provide startup
assistance as required.
Evaluate available resources including computers, software licenses
and other specialized software requirements.
Provide support and assistance to direct supervisor on technical and

Lead Piping Engineer (Layout)

Development and detailed design of all piping components for Chemical


Process Units. Utilize applicable design criteria, design tools, best practices,
and established work processes to complete detailed design packages.
Co-ordinate with designers and drafters to complete targeted tasks and
assemble contract packages in accordance with the project schedule. Strong
