NEW MEMBER GUIDE

WELCOME TO AIRPORT FREEWAY

CHURCH OF CHRIST
We are thrilled that you have chosen to place membership with us and
pray that you find your niche for service. We are a family that believes
in service and creating opportunities to share Gods Word with all those
whom we come in contact.
Towards this goal, we have many ministries and opportunities to serve
and welcome your input and ideas on creating even more!
We have created this booklet so that you will know just what those
opportunities are; as well as contact information so that you can get
any questions you may have, answered.
Please take the time to fill out the enclosed New Member Questionnaire.
This is the first step in us getting to know you. You may return it to
either of our Elders. You will find their names and faces in the following
pages. One, or several of them, will be in touch with you in the very
near future for a brief get-to-know-you session.
And remember, just as we serenaded you in your special welcome
circle: Were proud youve joined [this] Army of The LORD and we
look forward to serving with you!

In Him,
Your AFCOC Family

Jesus said that the world would know that we are His because

different backgrounds we all strive to be united in firm belief
and loving action.
These are our non-negotiable statements of belief...

CAREGROUPS
Our Care Groups are designed to facilitate physical and
relational care for each of our members. There are five such
groups here at AFCOC. Each group has a leader, typically a
family, which will be responsible for various tasks throughout
the year. This is just one way for us to stay abreast of member
needs and to make information dissemination easier.
You will be assigned to a Care Group based on where you
live in the Metroplex. Anita Taylor, our church secretary, will
take care of this and inform you of your particular group. She
will also provide you with a list of your group members and
a church directory to aid you with putting faces with names.
This should happen within your first few weeks here, but in
the event that it doesnt, feel free to ask her about it!

BIBLE
STUDY GROUPS

Our Bible Study Groups serve as one of the core programs at Airport Freeway. That is because we realize that the
in-depth study of Gods Word is critical to the growth and development of Christians at every stage of maturity.
Although our Adult classes are well thought out and taught by interesting, capable, knowledgeable men of God;
we do put special emphasis on our childrens curriculum. We believe in creating an environment that is nurturing
and that creates in them a desire to be here and to know God and our Savior Jesus Christ.
We know that Gods Word is the ultimate life-guide:
Theres nothing like the written Word of God for showing you the way to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
Every part of scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another- showing us truth, exposing our rebellion,
correcting our mistakes, training us to live Gods way. Through the Word, we are put together and shaped up for
the tasks God has for us.
2 Timothy 3:16-17, The Message
