School Recognitions for February

We have just concluded all of our Winter Sports seasons. We congratulate all our teams, coaches and student-athletes for
competing at the highest level with Respect-Honor-Strength! There were many recognitions and I am sure I do not have them
all but here are some of the highlights.

Girls Basketball competed hard and finished second in the Regional Finals at Carson. We look forward to great things
from them next year.

Boys Basketball fell short at Galena in the first round of the Regional Tournament. The boys fought hard and with
their strong Freshmen and JV teams, the future looks great for them also.

Rifle Team finished 6th in State this year-great job by them.

Wrestling had an outstanding season with multiple competitors in the Regional and State tournament. We saw
sophomore Andrew Berreyesa take home a State Title this year. Way to go Andrew!

I am pleased to announce that Reno High School is one of two winners for the Winter Snow Down Video Contest! As
such, our school will receive a $1,000 check. Here is the link for YouTube: http://youtu.be/yoM9BOFld6E
Reno High School students competed in the Northern Nevada Worldquest event and tied for second place!

Science Bowl earned a Second Place Finish in the State Competition. Excellent job!

We the People earned a 3rd Place Finish in State this year. Great job students and coaches! Max Demers, Annie
Healion, James Osgood and Delanie Ruf also got an outstanding Unit award for their testimony.

Mock Trial Wins Regionals back to back this year!

Clay Harrison and Tyler Hart were named Presidential Scholar Candidates

Our 4 National Merit Semi Finalists earned Merit Scholar status: Congrats to Tyler Hart, Matt Biondi, Clay Harrison
and Sierra Jickling
Speech and Debate were in first place heading into the weekend regionals. They ended up winning the regional
competition for the 20th year in a row!!!!
