Love Is All You Need?

"Teen bulling and teen suicide based on someone's
sexual preference is ridiculous - and this film turns the
tables on modern society. What IF the shoe was on the
other foot?. " --K.Rocco Shields (Creator/Director)
This is a world which Gay is normality but Straight is
minority. Main Character - Ashley is a heterosexual, so
she is abused and bullied by other classmates since
she was a child. Her boyfriend left her because he can
not suffer the preesure by others mocking and bullying
on them. Even she was bulied, Her mothers still think she
is weird and abnormal. She suffers a lot of pain and
pressure so she finally suicide.......

Lighting: one lighting on above and shaking, imitating portable flashlight.

Colour: bright colourpaper with handwrite content implying content is about youngsters.
Camera movement: zoom in specific words to show its important, sudden zoom
out is like imitating curious child is drawing attention to anything that is interesting.

Frontality: By having characters look directly into the camera as if they were aware of the
viewers' presence, in here the spectators are the new born baby, daughter of these two
women.
This scene show the main character come to life and her mothers are glad and happy . They
take care of this new family member. The girl think she is the happiest people in the world of
being their daughter.

Left
Extreme Close up: the scene show someone pick up a ring, which is place on a grand tray,
low-key lighting emphasis the sharpness of the ring.
Middle
After the wedding ceremony, everybody is leaving the church, high-contrast cause the
shadow of the middle guy and unable to see his face clear beacuse he is exiting the
screen.
Right
This scene uses symmetrical to creat an beautiful, solemn atmosphere. The girl is standing
very behind in the deep space. She is so far away that she seems alone

This scene shows children are

deciding what to play.
Carea tilt when those children
come out the screen, creating
a sync movement of camera
and the children.

This scene shows they are playing playing house, they are allocating the character, one girl
says she will play mother with protagonist, other two boys want to to fathers, meanwhile
protagonist says she want a mother and father, suddently the atmospher changes. The girl
think it is a dsguisting idea and girl is weird. Protagonist argues with the girl, then girl takes her
brother leave.
Lighting: Natural light, creats a soft and natural view.

This scene shows protagonist try to convinence her parents that straight is positive and
nothing to ashame of, but her parents looking at her with doubt. She is unhappy and hoping to
talk to the boy she likes. They date at the playground. One day when protagonist is riding
bicycle she sees neightbors writing anti-straight slogan on garage, she sees heterosexual is
such a conflict. She is taking by her parents to wedding and she feels she is incompatible with
the public values.
Most scenes are using deep sapce and shallow faocs to emphasis the characters. The scene
colour between protagonist being with the boy and joining the wedding is quite contrast
.Former is much warmer than the other one, the drop of temperature shows spectators how
protagonist feels.

These scenes shows protagonist is bullying by her classmates becuse she has different sexual
orientation,her teacher sees and stoping them bullying, but he also tells protagonist to
become normal. Protagonist unders great pressure and starting to think of suicide.
The right one extremely close-up her feet, showing she is so near the pool that equal the
distance to death.

This scene shows protagonist recieved malice message from her classmates on her sexual
orientation. Left and right one both uses deep space and shallow focus on the main objects.
In the middle one, protagonists face is like hiding behihnd the paper. Low-key lighting make
spectators feel she is alerting in mentality.

This scene shows the farewell from the boy to protagonist, she request last kiss but her
classmates sees. They want to catch her and teach her a lesson. This scene starts from
shooting the hall inside, then the boy and protagonist come form both sides.
Camera switches and continue to close up them coming to each other. When they kiss,
camera switch to thr original place and the back of those girls shows up.
A lighting is place on the ground to cast light upon those girls, making them look terrible and
wicked.

They chased around the campus and catch protagonist at the basketball court. They hit her
and graffiti on her forehead.
Camera replace the view of protagonist and also shooting those bullyers legs give
spectators make spectators see what she sees.

The protagonist has not go home and her parents are very worried about her. Finally she
come back with wounds and graffities on face, her brother looks shock. Lighting on his back
make high-contrast to strengthen the affect, let spectators feel the same way.
After her parents know what happen, they feel sad and angry. They let protagonist go to
clean up and watch go her. Apart from the light from upstar, another light cast next to them
to fill their contour.
Upstairs in protagonists bedroom used dim light, only small bright light cast on her face,
showing her hope and brightness of life are losing.
She heard her parents arguing about her, she remind how the people discriminate and hurt
her. She can not suffer anymore, she suicide. Camera closes up she cutting her veins and
dropping blood in bathub.

Conclusion
- This mircofilm reveals problems of teen bully and teen suicide.

- We should support different sexual orientation

- The idea of this mircofilm is outstanding and thought-provoking.
- At the end of film used low-key to creat sorrow and deperate atmosphere which
touches my heart most.
- Apart from end of the film, when there is scene parents appear, the lighting and
atmosphere around them are soft and warm, like how protagonist feel about them,
tthe acting of both actress perform an impressive image of a parent.

Motive
Chen Yunjiao
Adam is a young cartoonist. His wife was
pregnant which resulting in the slow progress of his
work. But his boss Ben asked him to finish the
cartoon earlier. He said the cartoon is not yet
complete; he hust did not finish the ending. Ben
just made up an ending in order that he can finish
the cartoon as soon as possible. However, it
makes Adam think he may not be the father of his
child. After his boss left his car Adam found that
he left his cellphone in the car. He saw the miss
call was from his wife! He heard the voice
message and discover Ben was the father, so he
kill him, his master, to complete his stroy ending......

Storyboard of Adams
Story, it is about a
young man killing his
master. Adam is
a
ghost writer working for
his master to draw
comics. As Adams
wife
sick
at
the
deadline day, Adam
can not finish his work
so he is blamed by his
master.

The scene starts at night. Steady camera shoots a car stop. Then camera switch to Adam
watching his own work, revealing he is a cartoonist. He heard the door is opened, he turns.

HIs boss, Ben, comes in the car. Adam try to explain he can not finish the work because his
wife s sickness disturb him to complete the whole story, but Ben is outrightly blaming him
delaying the job. Adam is stimulated and suddently drive extreme fast that scared Ben. Ben
scold at him at refuese to offer him job anymore.
When Adam is stimulated and has a sudden mad thought, there was bright car light cast on
his face to make high-contrast with his facial expressions. The film shoot in dim light
enviornment, when bright light appear spectators can considers it is a signal that something
important is happening or imitating something is going to happen. When Adam started his
crazy drirve, camera close up his hand and feet to creat tension that make spectators
feel,OH, ITS TIME.

When Ben left the car to smoke, Adam found his phone left on his seat. He picked it up and
tried to warn Ben, but then he saw Ben has a miss call from his wife Jenny. He listen to the
her voice message without Bens authorization. He heard the truth that Ben was the babys
father, not him.
The cellphone was focused when Adam look at the message above the screen to give the
same view to spectators. When he was listening to the voice message, his facial expression
was extremely close-up to watch the change of emotion.

He look at his work which treated as trash by Ben. He suddenly figured out how the story will
end. He started the car engine and crash to Ben in seconds. At the end, a pic of
storyboard show how the story end.

- Opposite style to Love is all you need?
- As reference on how to shooting when the scene set at night, how to use enviornment
light (like car lights) to cast characters
- In the begining and ending of the film, a few storyboard shows, they inspire a different
performence of a video can use.
