WITH DIESLs SUPPLY CHAIN SOLUTIONS THE CLIENT CAN NOW SELL ANYWHERE IN THE
COUNTRY WITHOUT REGISTERING THEMSELVES IN THAT STATE

THE CLIENT
The customer is a recent entrant in the Indian market with the goal of revolutionizing innovation and
manufacturing in India. As veterans in the distribution of UL-Listed and EN-Standard security equipment from internationally acclaimed manufacturers, the customer has an efficient global supply
chain that spans the UK, Spain, Finland, Netherlands, USA, Korea, China and Taiwan. Their products range from small general-purpose safes for
domestic use to high security fireproof burglary-

resistant safes for the retail, banking & hospitality

sectors.
The company maintains a widespread marketing
and sales network supported by specialized service
teams stationed at major metros. Dedicated teams
are assigned to examine and assess risk exposure
and offer appropriate security solutions. They offer
complete after-sales service. With an all-India distribution network, they cover services such as installation, maintenance and customer support.

CHALLENGE FACED BY CUSTOMER

With a strong product and service portfolio, one of
key challenges faced by the customer was to exponentially improve the sales foot print across India
without increasing the sales and distribution cost.

And to be able to sell across India, Customer

needed to set up exclusive billing teams, warehouses and secondary distribution channel. Last
mile delivery of heavy safes with electronic locking
systems was also a challenge.

DIESLS SUPPLY CHAIN SOLUTION

Customer opted to work with DIESL as it met the their requirements of pan India operations, integrated
warehousing and distribution network, strong ERP, experience in the CSA business. DIESLs 190 warehouses
are spread across 28 states in India & are supported by strong Distribution Management & Warehouse Management Systems.

Consignment Sales Model: This helped to increase clients sales foot print across India without incurring
additional cost. Consignment sales management model allows the customer to easily manage inventory at
customers geography, with DIESL invoicing them only when product is actually sold. Consignment is the act
of consigning, which is placing the customers inventory in the hand of DIESL, but retaining ownership until
the goods are sold or transferred.

This is done for shipping, or for sale in a store or

geography. The ownership of these goods remains
with the customer. DIESL sells the goods on behalf
of the customer, according to their instructions.
Key features of this offering are:

buyer and seller

Customer is entitled to receive all the expenses

in connection with consignment

Goods are sold at the risk of the customer. The

profit or loss belongs to customer only

The relationship between the two parties is

that of consignor and consignee and not that of

SERVICES OFFERED TO THE CLIENT

Last mile delivery of domestic or high security fireproof burglary-resistant safes was a big challenge.
The safe required expert handling as their weight
varied from 50 kg to 1.5 tons. Any mishandling had
the potential to damage the electronic numeric entry system which would result in damaging the lock

alignment of the product. DIESL enrolled an expert

team which is capable of handling such heavy material and ensures safe delivery at the desired end
user location.

FINAL OUTCOME
Tangible benefits experienced by the customer:

Customer now can sell anywhere in the country

without actually registering themselves in that
State.
Customer need NOT spend capital and effort to
configure the inventory in SAP, a DIESL has
offered their SAP for invoicing.

With Inventory being closer to customer, DIESL

became a key enabler for increasing the speed
to order fulfillment.
DIESL collects the value of the inventory and

remits to the customer which ensures timely

collection for the customer.

Since the physical and system processes are

already configured by DIESL, the customer now
can expand anywhere across India, including
North East.

DIESL is also developing Value Added Processes

that are further facilitated by the use of Vendor
Managed Inventory (VMI) applications in which the
vendor plans and controls the inventory for the
customer.
