The AMIE examination is conducted by The Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkata. A pass in AMIE
examinations has been recognized by the Central and State Governments in India as equivalent to the
B.E/B.Tech degree. These students are eligible to apply for admission to the Post Graduate Engineering
Courses in all the Indian Universities.

A candidate shall be required to pass in all the ten subjects given above. Maximum marks for
examination in each subject in 100. Duration of Examination for each subject is three hours.
A candidate shall not be permitted to appear in more than four subjects in one term, including
the subjects in which he appeared previously but could not secure the minimum grade C.

SECTION B EXAMINATION
After passing Section A (Non-Diploma) or Section A (Diploma) examination in full, a candidate
is required to apply for registration for Section B examination in any one of the engineering
discipline of his choice in which examinations are conducted.
Section A completed member is required to pass a total of nine subjects six compulsory and
three optional.
Grading System is followed for all subjects of Section B.
Section A completed members can appear for the examination for four subjects of his choice
in one examination.
The successful completion of the Institutions Examination, which is recognized by the
Government of India, the UPSC and the UGC as equivalent to a degree in engineering, makes
the graduate eligible for employable as a bachelor degree holder and also for the Post
Graduate and doctoral studies in India and aboard. At present, the Section B examination is
