2 balls #103 Bubblegum (MC)
or color of your choice
LION BRAND Velvet Spun
2 balls #100 White (CC)
or color of your choice
LION BRAND size K-10.5 [6.5 mm] crochet hook OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
LION BRAND size J-10 [6 mm] crochet hook
Five 13/16" [21 mm] white buttons
Sewing needle and matching thread
Scraps of contrasting yarn to be used as markers
LION BRAND large-eyed, blunt needle
GAUGE
11 sts = 4 [10 cm]; 17 rows = 5" [12.5 cm] in sc with 2 strands of MC held tog on larger
hook.
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.
BACK
Starting at bottom edge, with larger hook and 2 strands of MC held tog, ch 31 (34, 38,
40).
Row 1 (RS) Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across; turn 30 (33, 37, 39) sc.
Work even in sc until Back measures 10 (11, 12, 13)" [25.5 (28, 30.5, 33) cm] from beg.
Fasten off.

Starting at bottom edge, with larger hook and 2 strands of MC held tog, ch 15 (17, 19,
20).
Row 1 (RS) Ch 1, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across; turn 14 (16, 18, 19) sc.
Work even in sc until Front is 3 rows shorter than finished Back. Slip st in 5 (5, 6, 6) sts
at neck edge. Work even on remaining 9 (11, 12, 13) sc for 3 more rows. Fasten off.
SLEEVES
Starting at cuff edge, with larger hook and 2 strands of MC held tog, ch 20 (20, 22, 22).
Row 1 (RS) Ch 1, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across; turn 19 (19, 21, 21) sc.
Work 1 row even. Inc 1 sc each end every other row until there are 27 (31, 33, 37) sts in
work. Work even until piece measures 5 1/2 (6 1/2, 7 1/2, 8 1/2)" [14 (16.5, 19, 21.5) cm]
from beg. Fasten off.
ASSEMBLY
With large-eyed, blunt needle and MC, sew shoulder seams. Place markers 5 (5 1/2, 6, 6
3/4)" [12.5 (14, 15, 17) cm] down from shoulder seams on each side of Fronts and Back.
Sew tops of Sleeves between markers on Fronts and Back. Sew side and Sleeve seams.
Bottom Edging
With RS facing, smaller hook, and CC, join yarn at bottom edge of Left Front at front
opening.
Row 1 Ch 1, sc evenly spaced across bottom edge to Right Front opening; turn.
Row 2 Ch 1, sc in each sc across. Fasten off.
Sleeve Edging
With RS facing, smaller hook, and CC, join yarn at lower edge of Sleeve, at the seam.
Rnd 1 Ch 1, sc evenly spaced around edge; join with slip st to first sc; turn.
Rnd 2 Ch 1, sc in each sc across; join with slip st to first sc. Fasten off.
Button Band
On Left Front for girls/Right Front for boys, with RS facing and larger hook, join MC at
bottom/top of Front edge.
Row 1 Ch 1, sc evenly spaced across Front edge; turn.
Work even in sc for 2 more rows. Fasten off.
Buttonhole Band
On opposite Front edge, with RS facing and larger hook, join MC at top/bottom of Front
edge.
Row 1 Ch 1, sc evenly spaced across; turn.
Mark positions for 5 evenly spaced buttonholes.
Row 2 Ch 1, sc in each sc across, working (ch 1, skip 1 sc) at each marker; turn.
Row 3 Ch 1, sc in each sc and each ch1-space across. Fasten off.
Collar
With RS facing and larger hook, join CC in top right corner of Right Front in first row of
Button Band or Buttonhole Band.

Row 1 Ch 1, work 34 (38, 42, 44) sc evenly spaced around neck opening to first row of
Buttonhole Band or Button Band at Left Front corner; turn.
Work even in sc for 5 more rows. Fasten off.
With sewing needle and thread, sew buttons to Button Band opposite buttonholes.
HAT
FRONT/BACK Make 2
With larger hook and 2 strands of MC held tog, ch 21 (23, 25).
Row 1 Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across; turn 20 (22, 24) sc.
Work even in sc for 7 (9, 11) rows. Fasten off MC; join CC.
With CC, dec 1 sc each end every row until 4 sts remain. Fasten off, leaving a tail for
sewing.
EARS Make 2
With larger hook and 2 strands of MC held tog, ch 8.
Row 1 (WS) Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across; turn 7 sc. Fasten off MC.
Row 2 With RS facing, join CC in first sc, ch 1, sc in each of first 6 sc, 2 sc in last sc;
working across opposite side of foundation ch, 2 sc in first ch, sc in each ch across. Mark
this end as bottom edge. Fasten off.
FINISHING
With WS facing, sew Front to Back across top edge of Hat. Place bottom edge of one Ear
centered within shaped edge of Hat, with Ear facing into Hat. Sew seam across shaped
edges, sewing through 3 thicknesses, thus joining Ears. With MC, sew remaining seam
across sides of Hat. Turn Hat right side out.
BRIM
With RS of Hat facing, join 2 strands of MC in sc at side of Hat.
Rnd 1 Ch 1, sc evenly spaced around lower edge of Hat; join with slip st in first sc; turn.
Rnds 2-5 Ch 1, sc in each sc around; join with slip st in first sc; turn.
Fasten off. Fold Brim up.
Embroider bunny face on Front of Hat as pictured, using MC and large-eyed, blunt
needle.
