end collisionavoidance system (FECAS) work independently and is designed to reduce the speed of a
vehicle automatically on probability of potential crash. The work done on FECAS for minimizing the
chances ofcollision is presented here. The work focuses on the collision avoidance between the two
vehicles moving one after another by detecting the position of the preceding vehicle and controlling the
speed of the host vehicle that carries the FECAS. A fusion of sensors was used to get the information
about the position and speed of the preceding vehicle. Speed of the host vehicle was gradually or
immediatelyreduced accordingly. Virtual system modeling was carried out and tested with hardware in
loop simulation for sensors and actuation performance. Finally, the FECAS was incorporated on scaled
model of a car and tested in the real environment. Successful controlling of the car was achieved under
all conditions. The car came to complete halt at a distance varying between 0.65 m to 2.5 m and no
incidence of collision occurred when the car was in the critical zone.

Nowadays it is said to be that most of the people die due to accidents occurring in the road side than any
diseases. In some cases accidents also occurs due to mechanical failure of the vehicle. But in most of the
cases it is due to human who drives these vehicles in crowded areas. In order to avoid such a situation
highway department has placed signboards to alert the drivers, but it is not always possible to view those
signboards while driving. So the drivers may lose their control over the brakes and also may collide with
other pedestrians or it may hit any stationary vehicles. In order to avoid this situation we are using a
new system for

This
system is designed with two separate units: Zone status transmitter unit and Vehicle control unit, once the
emergency zone is detected, the control data can be exchanged between vehicle control unit and the
road side transmitter unit, and the controller automatically reduces the speed of the vehicle. Simulation
and experimental result shows that this system is easily adopted and avoids collisions.

parking assist systems. This paper outlines a fuzzy logic based ADAS with integrated speed sign
detection (SSD) capability. The described system improves safety of the vehicle by dynamically
adjusting the speed of the ACC in accordance with the speed limit of the road. The proposed
ADAS system will be helpful in reducingspeeding violations and enhancing smoother cruise
control in heavy traffic conditions. All systemdesign, implementation and testing was done using
the MATLAB development environment, and TORCS virtual car simulator.
