The water produced by each device must be used for the specific purpose for which it was
intended. Culligan is not liable for the consequences of improper use of the water produced by its
equipment.
All system malfunctions must be reported to the Culligan Service Centre immediately. Culligan is
not liable for the consequences of protracted use of a system on which malfunctions have
occurred.
Where necessary, chemicals must be selected, dosed and handled by professional qualified staff,
in accordance with the Culligan instructions and the Safety Technical Information.
The system must be disconnected from the electricity and water supplies during all maintenance or
repair operations.
Waste or consumable materials from water treatment systems must be disposed of in accordance

PHARMA SYSTEM
45-80-120 Models
INTRODUCTION
For many industrial and laboratory applications it
is necessary to have water that is highly pure
and that comes as close as possible to the ideal
H2O. To obtain such pure water, special
treatments are needed that are designed to
remove from the water all the substances that it
may contain in dispersed (suspended solids,
colloids, micro-organisms, etc.) or dissolved
(salts, molecules, ions) form.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
PHARMA is a device that produces ultra-pure
water, designed and conceived to satisfy the
most demanding applications while providing a
simple but complete management of the system.
It brings together the characteristics of safety,
compactness, transportability and quietness that,
added to the constantly high quality of the water
produced, make this the ideal system for
advanced applications. PHARMA is easily

Ionic Exchange
The residual salts at the end of the reverse
osmosis process are dissociated in anionic
and cationic forms.

Principles of Operation
CHANGE
If the quality alarm should persist (a clear
sign of MB exhaustion), it will be necessary to
commute the MBs (for example: from 1 to 2).
ALARMS
- In an alarm condition, no matter what the
cause, pressing RESET silences the
buzzer.
- However,
ALARM is still shown on the display to
indicate its nature.
- To
stop
ALARM being displayed, press
RESET
again.
This is only possible if the cause of the alarm
has been removed.
-
MENU (Enter)
This key is employed during the service in
order to display R.O. water quality. During
settins, it confirms set parameters, and goes
to next step. During MB change, it confirms
required replacement.
- e + if pressed at the same time, they
enable to access to the setting or modifying
of set values.

PRE ALARM
QUALITY ALARM
The quality of the water is controlled by the
conductivity meter (with Set point Q. SET set
on approximately 1.4 S/0.7 M ).
When the water conductivity exceeds the set
limit,
Q. ALARM blinks on the display.
The real alarm only appears if the conditions
of poor quality remain for 2 minutes with
buzzer activation.
N.B.: If RESET has not been pressed after 2
minutes the buzzer silences itself. If the
water quality comes within the limit the
buzzer automatically silences itself with
Q. ALARM displayed steady as a
reminder of the alarm occurring.
Notes: The quality alarm does not stop any of
the system's functions.
IN PAUSE
During pause all alarms are desactivated.
Nevertheless, the display will show the
alarms memorized before service stop.
The main alarm which might be memorised is
the QUALITY ALARM.
RESET hey will cancel alarms.
TRIP ALARM
A sound and blinking visual alarm activated
by the fuse protecting the pump-motor
blowing. It is the cause of short circuiting or
abnormal motor input current.

1) ALTERNATING AND REPLACING THE MB
CARTRIDGE
- It is possible to alternate the bottles also
during service. Replacement of cartidges
can only be carried out during stops.
- Move the valve (2) lever downward
(DRAIN position).
- Open the valve (24) (R.O. by-pass).
WARNING: wait about one minute to give
the system time to release pressure.
- Disconnect the exhausted MB container
by unfastening the quick-release clamps
(blue and green).
- Open the containers holding belt and
remove the MB container to be replaced.
Note: it is suggested that a sink or drain
be nearby.
- Unscrew the clamp and disassemble the
cover.
- Take out the cartridge of the exhausted
resin.
- Insert the new cartridge making sure that
the upper and lower caps have been
removed from the cartridge.
- Place the removed caps on the exhausted
cartridge and dispose of it.
- Close the MB housing with its coveer.
- Reposition the clamp
- Reposition the MB housing in its seat.
- Reinstall the respective connections of the
MB housing (blue to blue, green to green).
- Tighten the housing with the belt.
- Bring the valve (2) lever upward to the
SERVICE position.
- Close the R.O. by-pass valve (24).
- Restart
the
system
by
pressing
OPERATE .
2) MB RESET
(To be done after the exhausted MB cartridge
has been replaced).
After commutation from MB 1 to MB2, the unit
will display Replace MB *

3) FILTER REPLACEMENT
With Pharma in stand- by the signal
REPLACE FILTER will be displayed..
- Move the valve (2) lever downward
(DRAIN position).
- Open the R.O. by-pass valve (24).
WARNING: wait for about a minute to
give the system time to release
pressure.
- Replace the filter cartridges by turning
clock-wise and removing from the
bottom. To insert the new filter reverse
the above procedure.
- Move the valve (2) lever upward to the
SERVICE position.
- Close the R.O. by-pass valve (24).
- Restart the system by pressing
OPERATE .
- Reset the filter replacement timer by
pressing simultaneously + and RESET
- Now the filter timer is off.
