INTRODUCTION
Tourism is travel for recreational, leisure ,or business purposes. The World Tourism
Organization defines tourists as people "traveling to and staying in places outside their
usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure, business and other
purposes". The word tour is derived from the Latin, 'tornare' and the Greek, 'tornos',
meaning 'a lathe or circle; the movement around a central point or axis'. This meaning
changed in modern English to represent 'one's turn'. The suffix ism is defined as 'an
action or process; typical behavior or quality', while the suffix, ist denotes 'one that
performs a given action'. When the word tour and the suffixesism and ist are combined,
they suggest the action of movement around a circle. One can argue that a circle
represents a starting point, which ultimately returns back to its beginning. Therefore, like
a circle, a tour represents a journey in that it is a round-trip, i.e., the act of leaving and
then returning to the original starting point, and therefore, one who takes such a journey
can be called a tourist.
In 1994, the United Nations classified three forms of tourism in its Recommendations on
Tourism Statistics:

Domestic tourism, involving residents of the given country traveling only within
this country.

Inbound tourism, involving non-residents traveling in the given country.

Outbound tourism, involving residents traveling in another country.

The internet is surfed by millions of people now a days. So, to promote the tourism of a
country or a state ,the internet is the best option. Most tourist sites are looking to provide
potential visitors with more detailed information than traditional advertising, including
brochures, will allow. Through a home page we can take the time to show pictures and
talk about the history, atmosphere, and attractions provided in as much detail.
My site "A LOOK TO CITY BEAUTIFUL" aims to
provide a clear and vast information about city Chandigarh to make your visit easy and
convenient. This site is not like a guide book ,it also provides you with the idea of
transportation facilities, staying facilities. This site will have been designed by keeping in
mind people of all different kind of economical background and different types of
purposes they could have. it will help people to plan their journey in more better ways.

METHODOLOGY/PLANNING OF WORK

Requirements:- To create a simple website, one will need to have the following:
1. Domain Name - The common place the user will find your site on the World Wide Web.
For example, www.yournamehere.com is a domain name. You can purchase your own
domain or get a free one offered by many different online companies.
2. Webhost - This is a company that will "host" your domain and web pages. By "uploading"
your "data"transferring the files that make up your websiteto their server, you give
the consumer access to your page on the Internet.
3. Text Editor program and a little knowledge of HTML - HTML, or Hypert-text markup
language is the most basic of the web-languages. All you really need to develop a web
page is some basic knowledge of HTML and the Windows program Notepad (the
Macintosh equivalent is TextEdit). A page written in this "markup language" can contain
images, links, text formatting, etc., and its file extension is .html.
4. FTP Program - FTP stands for file transfer protocol, and is the most common method of
uploading your files to your hosting.
