Recently semi-retired, I am an inspiring, empowering, and trained Co active Coach, who is defined by
integrity, and dedication. I am a positive energetic person who assists clients in moving forward and, a
person who pursues personal growth for myself, and strives to support growth in others.
I have been a member of the Liberal party for several years, however not active. My mounting disgust
over the last few years seeing what the Harper government was doing within our country such as the
lack of transparency, the muzzling of our scientists, the disregard for our environment, led me to getting
involved actively with the Liberal party behind Stephen Fuhr in the last year and a half.
My talents include organizing and bringing individuals together to work towards common goals, and
have I have been described by colleagues, clients and friends as a visionary leader, and a true and
compassionate listener.
I am a nature enthusiast and love daily walks, occasional golf, jazz, and play the piano
My husband Jamie and I have been married for 32 years and we have lived in Kelowna for the past 26
years.
My core beliefs:
Walking my Talk
In reviewing the available positions my choice would be Vice president or Organizing Chair.

Communications
I chaired the BC Conference Division of Communications Committee and managed the BC
Conference website for 20 years. In the past year I created websites for St. Pauls United Church
in Kelowna and, more recently, created a new website for First United Church in Kelowna. I also
served as the Public Relations Chair, Burnaby Hospice Society 1991-1993.
Policy
Having served on a number of church of community Boards I have had a great deal of
experience working on policy formation. I have worked extensively with the John Carver model
of Board Governance.
Liberal History
I am a third generation Liberal. My grandfather was a Liberal Candidate and Deputy Minister under John
Oliver when the BC Liberals were Liberals. My father was President of the Riding Association in Kootenay
West. I remember delivering Diefendollars door to door in 1962. As a member of the order of ministry I
could not participate openly in any political campaign. Now retired I am proud to be a member of the
Liberal Party.
Research in KGHs ICU resulted in an MSc thesis on; Cognitive Human Factors in ICU Anticipation,
intuition and foresight at change of shift report (CoSR). My current interest is improving verbal
communication at care transitions across sectors.
Alicia Cooke
My name is Alicia Cooke and I am a grade 12 student at Kelowna Secondary School. Starting at a
young age, I developed a sincere passion for helping members of my community. From Grade 9
onwards, I became somewhat of a volunteer addict. I am currently involved in 7 school clubs, all
pertaining to issues and activities that I am extremely passionate about. During the school year, I tutor
middle school aged children at KLO Middle School twice weekly. In the summers of 2014 and 2015, I
volunteered at Camp OC, a local childrens day camp.
In grade 11, my interest in politics began to flourish thanks so an incredible social studies
teacher. After researching various party platforms and policies, I decided to volunteer with the Liberal
Party of Canada in the Kelowna-Lake Country riding. I soon became one of the team leaders for door
canvasses and helped to coordinate volunteers.
During the campaign, I initiated a Young Liberals Club at my high school, currently the only high
school Young Liberals Club in all of BC. The purpose of this student-led club is to help students get
informed and engaged in Canadian politics. With voter turnout rates of 38.8% for people aged 18-24 in
the last election, I want to ensure that students at my school are enthusiastic about politics and
understand the importance of using their fundamental right to vote.
I hope to be involved in the EDA as a Director at Large or a Youth Director in order to represent youth
issues and ideas as well as serve as a link between the Young Liberals Club at UBCO/KSS and the riding
association.

I am interested in serving on the Executive as a Director-at Large. I believe that re-electing Steve in the
next election will be challenging, because the strong
Conservative core of this riding supported by the pro-Conservative media has already begun its efforts
to regain this riding. We need a long-term strategy to re-elect Steve and the next campaign must begin
immediately. I would like to be involved in the Communications dimension which would ensure that
Steves work and contributions get regular positive coverage, that the actions and programs of the
Trudeau government are given positive coverage, and that critical coverage in the local mediaopinion
pieces, slanted news articles from Ron Seymour, and critical letters-to-the-editorare challenged in
systematic and thoughtful way.
I also would like to be involved in party activities that ensure that the outstanding cadre of Liberal
supporters who got involved in the campaign stay involved with the Party.

Gord Charles
Why I've become involved with the Liberal Party
Like so many Canadians, I was very frustrated and disillusioned with the leadership direction of the
Conservative Party. There were just so many issues: climate control, Canadian Security (C-51), Harper's
very tight control on government decisions, etc. that motivated me to try and make a difference. This
really was my first major involvement in an election. Soon after hearing Stephen Fuhr speak on a variety
of issues important to me, I immediately felt he was a candidate I would very much like to support him.
Similarly, in listening carefully to the campaign leadership of Trudeau (and the Liberal Party) I felt the
positions taken on important issues resonated with me. If I wanted "Real Change" to take place, it was
important to now provide time and energy for Stephen's campaign. As part of a collective group, we
realized we had a mammoth job ahead to sent Stephen to Ottawa. We "rolled up our sleeves" and got
ourselves "out to the people" and our efforts were a wonderful demonstration of "Grassroots
Teamwork"! For myself it was a very gratifying experience and I continue to have a strong desire to
support Stephen and the Liberal party in the years to come.
It is in the Outreach aspect of Membership I'd like to have my name stand as I feel I could make a strong
contribution in this position on the executive.

Work History
- a variety of jobs to numerous to detail when first out of school, mostly in service
industry
-brief teaching career
-30 years for the Federal government starting with Employment and Immigration
Canada and ending with Service Canada
Job titles included project officer, program officer, supervisor, team leader, office
manager. As the job titles might imply, l was responsible for the delivery and
monitoring of numerous federal government programs throughout the southern
interior of B.C. My work involved liaising and working with community groups,
municipal and provincial authorities, both political and administrative, as well as
Federal M.P.s
In the aforementioned role of program officer l worked uniquely with First Nations
people, both on and off reserve.
While in the position of team leader/ manager l was responsible for
the management and tracking of 8-$10,000,000 annual budgets. Unlike the
Harper government, l always came in within 1%.
- retired in 2007, ( with the bad habit of returning to the workforce annually).
-served in the position of volunteer coordinator for the Kelowna- Lake Country
constituency for the period leading up to the recent campaign.
Political Perspective
Having been an anglophone raised in Qubec during the quiet revolution, my leanings have always been
towards the federal Liberal Party under the leadership of Lester B. Pearson and Pierre Trudeau. While l
have at times "strayed" from the fold at the provincial level, l have been a lifelong Liberal federally.
I consider myself to be a "blue grit" in that l tend towards the left of the liberal spectrum on social
issues, and slightly to the right on fiscal issues. The advantage of being a Liberal is that we allow
ourselves a great deal more flexibility than parties to the right or left of us, and we have no reservations
about adopting their policy if it has merit. By definition we are pragmatists, adapting to changing
situations, less burdened by left/right dogmas. We exercise a tempered idealism. For Liberals,
compromise is a positive term which has made this country what it is today.
In summation, as with so many of my fellow Liberals, l felt obliged to take out party membership and get
involved because l couldn't tolerate another five years of Stephen Harper. I wanted my country back.
I would like to submit my candidacy as a board member at large, prepared to be a team member, or
take the lead on specific initiatives as they present themselves.
Thank you for your time and consideration Respectfully submitted Allan Gorham Sent from my iPad

I am a life-long small l liberal socially progressive, more conservative fiscally, but quite prepared to
move my vote as it applies to current situations. I have been a member of the national Liberal Party on
and off over the years, and have never belonged to any other political party. Campaigning for the Steven
Fuhr team was definitely the highlight of 2015!
I would be like to be considered as a Member at Large on the Kelowna-Lake Country constituency
association but I am also happy to help by taking on a role such as secretary, treasurer, policy chair, or
communications chair.

I'm 27 years old, and I work as a marketing manager for the family business, Savoy Equipment. I
was born and raised right here in Kelowna, and have lived in both Kelowna and Lake Country. I
graduated from Okanagan College with a Business Administration Diploma in 2011.
The past election was my first time NOT voting for the Conservatives, and I could not be happier
about my decision to switch. The initial driving force behind this decision was the economy. I
asked myself why Canada was the only G7 country to be thrown into yet another recession and it
all unraveled from that point. Complete lack of economic diversity, taxation policies that benefit
the wealthy, flippant environmental decisions, and outdated viewpoints on drugs and how to
control them. The list goes on and on.
What is on the forefront of my mind politically, however, can be summed up in one sentence;
Helping Canadians succeed. This includes the economy, along with a world of policies that
affect the underprivileged (such as taxation, child benefits, aboriginal issues, etc.). It's hard to
pinpoint only a handful of things that are important to me, as I believe it's all extremely
important.
Overall, my values are extremely aligned with the current Liberal platform and I am looking
forward to being apart of positive change for Canadians.

Why I am a Liberal:
My view of Canada was shaped as a young child in the sixties and teenager in the seventies. Pierre Elliot
Trudeau defined this country for me as pluralistic, diverse, multicultural and bilingual. I enjoyed and
promoted this approach in university, when travelling and when raising my children in downtown
Toronto. Canadas Charter of Rights and Freedoms is something of which I am most proud. Through my
career I become more business oriented and voted Conservative from time to time but never rejected
my liberal views. During the last 10 years under Harper rule I became increasingly dispirited by his
constant hacking away at what I thought were essential Canadian values. I wanted my country to be
more in line with the one in which Id grown up.
In my business career, I relied on Statistics Canada data for research and it was a shock to me when the
Conservative federal government chose to cut off the long form census. If this data was not considered
essential for us to know about ourselves and be able to form both government policies and business
strategies based on it, then we were in for a dubious future. The second seeds of my discontent were
planted when our federal leader invoked horrific claims about Muslims in parliament, picked public
fights with our Supreme Court Chief Justice, and failed to build bridges with premiers, first nations and
significant Canadian stakeholders. These missteps were indeed disappointing, but what truly tipped the
balance for me were articles in the international press listing all the same things that had been
bothering me, highlighting Canada's deteriorating global reputation on environmental policy, and our
failed UN security council status.
By the time the 2015 writ was dropped, I knew I wanted to get my Canada back and the only way I felt I
could have any influence was to throw myself into the Liberal campaign here in Kelowna-Lake Country
with the faint hope that we could put a Liberal in office. What I found in doing so was a group of likeminded volunteers from all walks of life, a strong and viable candidate who had followed a similar
conservative-liberal path to my own, and a young Trudeau who was improving his stature daily as the
leader who could back up his principles with reason and seasoned debate. Collectively, we succeeded
and its clear our federal policies are starting to head in the right direction. Now we need to also make
sure that our government can pay for it all.
Locally, I'm willing to stand for a position on the Kelowna - Lake Country 2016 Liberal EDA Executive
Council to further promote the Liberal brand and support the party. My interest is as a Director-AtLarge assisting in a variety of key portfolios such as Policy, Secretary, Organization, Membership,
Communications, Community Outreach and Fundraising. I am interested in providing focused energy
from time to time with a view to taking on more responsibility in the future. As a relative newcomer to
the Liberal Party, this would be the best way for me to learn the ropes, provide my significant business
and volunteer expertise when needed, and determine how to best serve the organization going forward.

also devotes much time to animal rights, especially in his capacity as elected member of the Kelowna
Community Council, which forms part of the governance structure of the BC SPCA.
Politically, Dustin has been a life-long Liberal Party of Canada supporter because he believes in equality
of opportunity and fiscal responsibility. He has been a party member for over 10 years. In the past he
was a volunteer for a local federal election campaign, as well as a national party leadership campaign.
Additionally, he has served as a delegate at a party policy convention. Most recently, he was a volunteer
with the Fuhr 2015 campaign. Dustin would like to continue to serve the party as a Kelowna-Lake
Country Executive Committee Member. In particular, Dustins extensive governance, policy, and legal
experience make him an ideal candidate for the Policy Chair, a position that is particularly significant this
year given the upcoming Biennial Convention.

Education
I graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from UBC in 1966 and earned a fifth year degree in education
in 1972 also at UBC. While working I took accounting courses and became a Certified Management
Accountant (CMA) in 1981.
Work Experience
After obtaining my commerce degree I travelled for a year then began working for Simpson Sears in
1967 as management trainee and then as a manager. I left Sears in 1970 and worked for a CA firm as an
articling student until I decided that I wanted to teach. In 1972 I obtained a degree in education and
taught high school in Kamloops for a few years then moved on to work for the Department of Indian
Affairs as a Commerce Officer. Unfortunately the office in Kamloops was closed in 1975 and I began
working for a CA firm in Kamloops. In 1977 I joined the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) in Penticton as a
business auditor. I spent 27 years with the CRA, most of it in management positions. I spent 12 years in
Penticton, 9 years in Victoria and finished the final 6 years in Kelowna as the manager of the Audit
Division,
I retired in 2004 and have volunteered as the Treasurer of our strata as well as Club Captain for the
senior mens group at Gallaghers Canyon Golf Club, Treasurer and then President of the golf club over a
period of eight years. During this time I was the Chairman for our Senior Mens Zone 2 golf tournament
at Gallaghers.
Why I am a Liberal
I am a Liberal for the following reasons:
The Liberal party is transparent and keeps the electorate informed concerning the many
promises the party made during the recent election.
The party has undertaken a policy to shift some of the tax burden from the middle class to the
top one percent income earners (those with taxable incomes exceeding $200,000 per year).
This policy is not only good for the middle class but it is also good for the economy in that it puts
more money in the hands of the people who will actually spend the money, thus contributing to
a stronger economy.
The party has undertaken to bring in 25,000 refugees by the end of February 2016 and also has
made a strong commitment concerning climate change and greenhouse gas emissions, These
policies are not only good for the world but also improves Canadas reputation in the world
which was tarnished during the previous governments 9 years in power.
I am in agreement with the above policies and many more undertaken by the current Liberal
government.
This is a summary of my education, work experience and why I am a Liberal. I feel this makes me a
suitable candidate to serve on the board for the Liberal Kelowna-Lake Country riding. My preferred
position would be that of Treasurer.

Western Canada. In her current role at CPA Canada, the national body of professional
accountants, Sarah oversees the creation and maintenance of the program to become a CPA. In
that capacity, she manages over thirty employees and contractors. She also teaches that
curriculum as a Facilitator and Session Leader with the CPA Western School of Business.
Sarahs teaching experience extends to university. Specifically, she is an Adjunct Professor at the

international development organization that works to address issues like gender-based violence
in Cambodia. Her largest focus, however, is on animal rights activism. She is an elected member
of the BC SPCA Kelowna Community Council, which is responsible for supporting the
associations governance and for promoting animal welfare though activities such as fundraising,
advocacy, and education. Sarah is also the Volunteer Coordinator and a Foster Parent for the
Okanagan Cat Coalition, which rescues, rehabilitates, and adopts feral cats within the region.
Sarah has always aligned politically with the Liberal Party of Canada because she believes in the
importance of the Canadian social safety net. She first became a member of the Liberal Party of
Canada over five years ago. Shortly thereafter, she served as a volunteer on the Michael Ignatieff
national party leadership campaign. Sarah would like to volunteer for the party once again, this
time as the Kelowna-Lake Country Executive Committee President. As a teacher, manager and
charity board member Sarah has proven that she can lead significant groups of people to work
together towards common goals. She believes that that type of leadership is essential for an
effective Executive Committee.

Moni Schiller
I wish to be considered for the position of: EDA Organization Chair
I was born and raised in Osoyoos, BC by Liberals, so I can attest to being a lifelong Liberal.
My parents encouraged me to participate in the political process so in 1968 I was a Trudeau
Girl and enjoyed attending events along with my mother who was very active for the party.
My mom, Ruth Schiller, was one of the original delegates who voted for Pierre Trudeau at the
Ottawa convention in 1967. She was the co chair for BC of the campaign when Chretien ran
the second time in 1996.
In grade 12 I became active in debating, and was awarded the Public Speaking Cup as well as
being the class valedictorian at graduation. I have remained comfortable with public speaking
ever since.
As you can see from the prcis below, I graduated as a teacher of the deaf in 1978, and moved
to Prince George for my first teaching assignment. I remained for five years, returning to
Vancouver where I attained my Masters degree in Education.
While working as an itinerant teacher for the hearing impaired in 1986 I developed a curriculum
on hearing conservation which I presented to over 50 classrooms. I received recognition from
the school district superintendent for my efforts.
In 1990 my then-husband and I decided it would be beneficial to raise our two boys outside of
the city and so we moved to Kelowna. In 1992 I and a business partner formed a company
called Rucastle and Schiller Workskills Ltd. in order to contract to the government.
This company was very successful, and we were awarded contracts such as Job Finding Club,
career counselling, older worker projects, contracts to assist adults with disabilities, vocational
assessments, and many more. At one time we had 10 employees and oversaw budgets of
several million dollars.
After 15 years government contracting became centralized, and Susan Rucastle and I decided
to seek different careers and closed the business.
I began working from home, contracting to a company which provides vocational rehabilitation
to people on long term disability, and have been doing that successfully since 2007. My job
involves working with adults who are sick or injured and who are making the transition back to
employment.
I am interested in the position of Organization Chair, and believe I have the abilities to perform
the required duties. I organized my 10th and 20th high school reunions and had to organize
events for our various government contracts.
For example, we had an Open House which retired senator Ross Fitzpatrick kindly attended. I
am not shy to invite people to events, and last year when my mom turned 90 I phoned Mr.
Chretiens office and asked for a letter, which I received.

Regarding my passion for Liberalism, one of my hobbies is writing letters to the editor. One was
published by both the Daily Courier as well as the Capital News just prior to the election, in
which I asked voters to consider their own biases against youth and to vote for Mr. Trudeau.
I speak German and know sign language; I am engaged in my neighbourhood where I have
lived for 25 years; I network at my gym, The Womans Place, and have a small home based
business called Nuttier than a Fruitcake.
As you may have guessed, I make fruitcake. Monda Rosenberg, retired food editor for
Chatelaine Magazine said You make one of the best tasting fruitcakes in Canada.
This feedback occurred because I am a shameless self-promoter, so I know if I can sell a tough
product like fruitcake, I can certainly encourage volunteers to help me in events!
