INTRODUCTION
Concordian International School (Concordian) was founded in August 2001 by the school sponsor
and current director, Varnnee Chearavanont Ross.
Concordian International School is a Nursery to Grade 12 school located southeast of downtown
Bangkok, just off the Bangna-Trad Road. The school nurtures more than 650 students in the International
Baccalaureate Organization programs (PYP, MYP, and DP) with an English-Chinese Immersion program
for students in Nursery through Grade 4. Concordian is the only fully trilingual international school
in Thailand offering the International Baccalaureate program from Nursery through Grade 12.
Concordian International is a private school, and is a member of the International Schools
Association of Thailand (ISAT) and the East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS). It is also
fully accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), the New England Association
of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and the Council of International Schools (CIS).
THE CURRICULUM
Concordian International School works within the IB framework to deliver rigorous and challenging
programs. Our course of study is drawn from both the IB and standards developed from around the
world.
Our Early Years Program includes Nursery through Kindergarten 3. The Nursery program welcomes
students from the age of 2. Our Primary Years Program (PYP) runs from Grade 1 to Grade 5. The PYP
promotes a supportive environment in which each childs potential is nurtured through close attention and
positive reinforcement.
The Middle Years Program (MYP), from Grades 6 to 10, accentuates the interrelatedness of subject
disciplines. Fundamental concepts are holistic education, communication and intercultural awareness.
The Diploma Program (DP) in Grades 11 and 12 is widely regarded as a passport to higher learning.
The IB diploma is accepted by colleges and universities around the world.
With its holistic approach, the IB program s a natural fit with Concordians
mission to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people
who will play an active role as global citizens and leaders.

SPORTS
Concordian Athletics provide each student an opportunity to develop citizenship traits such as
cooperation, leadership, self-discipline, and respect. Our students participate in a wide range of sports
including football, basketball, badminton, track and field, swimming, table tennis, futsal, hockey, and
volleyball.
Concordian is also a member of the Thailand International School Activity Conference (TISAC)
which sponsors many sports tournaments throughout the year. At these tournaments Concordian
students have shown that they can excel in sports as well as academics.

All Concordian students are expected to participate in service learning activities. This is in direct
connection with the strong Mission of the school.
We believe it is increasingly important to the future of the world that schools develop into communities
of virtue where moral and intellectual values are modelled, celebrated, and continually practiced in daily life.
Through a caring and nurturing environment, our students are encouraged to discover their unique strengths,
appreciate what they have, and find joy in contributing to the good of the community.
Concordian sees the importance of every childs development.
Values are further developed throughout each childs course of study
and play an intricate role in the fulfilment of the schools mission.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR
ACTIVITIES & EXPEDITIONS
As an extension to our effort on character building through our CAS and community service
programs, Concordian offers the chance for our students to gain knowledge, build friendships, and
exhibit teamwork skills outside the classrooms through extra-curricular activities including trips and
expeditions, and after-school activities. These reinforce the values in the schools mission statement
and help to nurture our students to become well-rounded individuals.
Concordian students are offered more than 40 after-school activities to choose from each semester.
These activities include sport activities such as basketball, volleyball, football, swimming, tennis, table
tennis, and badminton; performance arts such as music, ballet and Thai dancing; graphic design; cooking;
and many more.
Concordian further promotes multicultural learning and out-of-classroom experiences through
well designed expeditions. Students will not only enjoy themselves while bonding with their friends on
these trips, they will also practice their leadership skills; at the same time, they will explore places
and areas of disciplines that would broaden their knowledge of the world.
Some of the areas the students would get to explore during their trips include the eco-system,
agriculture, food processing, history, and culture both in and out of the country.
The IB Learner Profile emphasizes the importance of intellectual, physical and
emotional balance to achieve personal well-being (Balanced), and the
independence of spirit to explore new interests (Risk-takers). We are excited
to help students in their journey of personal and academic growth.
17
Concordian students are taught by a highly qualified group of educators with teacher to student ratio
of 1 to 6. We offer small class sizes, differentiated instruction, language support in English, Chinese, and
Thai, special learning support, and counselling from Nursery age up through College Counselling.
College and Career planning is an important component of the counseling department where
our dedicated team introduces a wide range of career paths to our students as well as help guide them
through their college application.
Extensive resources include the Naviance test - personality and career interest inventories; and
exposure to detailed information about colleges through college fairs and presentations by university
representatives.
18
Our teachers are a diverse group, hailing from 13 different nations all with the language of instruction
as their native mother-tongue. They bring with them years of teaching experience, including experience
in other countries. Many also have advanced degrees in Education or in other disciplines and several
are IB examiners.
All teachers engage in ongoing professional development within the IB Organization, or
other professional development to enhance their knowledge, skills, and pedagogy. They are lifelong
learners, inquirers, and global citizens with the passion to nurture our students to their full potential.
Coupled with our small class sizes, our highly qualified and dedicated
teaching faculties are fully committed to taking care of and nurturing
our students. Often, they would guide the students and help them through
various obstacles outside the classrooms. With their experiences and
guidance, our students feel truly inspired and taken care of.

FACILITIES
The school invests in the latest tools and equipment possible not only in support of the academic
program, but also to ensure day-to-day efficiency and safety in all aspects of school life.
Every classroom is equipped with an interactive smart board and overhead projector. The campus is fully
networked for wireless Internet access. Students have access to laptops as well as high-tech computer
labs. The use of proxy servers and filtering software encourages students to surf the web responsibly.
The school is also a proud owner of remarkable tri-lingual libraries with an ever-growing number
of books and resources. Other facilities such as playgrounds, clinic, cafeteria, and student lounges are also
designed and built at a world-standard to best serve the community.
