Objective
To learn, practice and evaluate the procedures required for safe and effective operation of the
Kingair.

Completion Standards
Demonstrate the ability to safely operate the FTD as an airplane, using the Company Standard
Operating Procedures, the Pilot's Operating Handbook (POH) or Approved Airplane Flight
Manual (AFM) and airplane checklists. Demonstrate the ability to complete normal and
emergency procedures in simulated flight situations.
The pilot will demonstrate the ability to conduct flights according to IFR within the tolerances
specified by Transport Canada in the Flight Test Standards Instrument Rating (Document
TP9939E). The instructor will discuss each incorrect action or response with the pilot to ensure
complete understanding.
Description
The FTD Training program will be conducted over a number of flights. All flights are completed
with a two person crew in which one trainee will assume the role of Pilot Flying and the other the
role of Pilot not flying. Pilots are trained in PF and PNF roles.
The company SOP and Checklists (or in their absence the CPAF SOP and Checklists) are used
to operate the aircraft in normal and emergency conditions.
Content
For complete course details visit CP Advanced Flight. This syllabus describes the events covered
for all Beechcraft aircraft. Each course given focuses on one specific Kingair model (A90, B90,
C90, E90, 100, A100, 200, B200 or 99) and all of the topics listed are presented regarding that
model. The course consists of four sessions per pilot consisting of approximately a half hour
briefing and one hour FTD time.
This syllabus describes the sequence for pilots undergoing initial training who have had very little
experience with turboprop aircraft or with crew operation. Pilots who are familiar with both of
these will progress to advanced training items more quickly, and will receive the opportunity to
deal with more complex emergencies and high workload/systems problem scenarios.
Further, this syllabus can be adjusted to incorporate the training to overcome weaknesses a
particular operator wishes to address in its training program.

Objective: to familiarize the trainee with the aircraft cockpit and with normal start, taxi, takeoff,
climbing, descending, speed control, stall recovery, ILS approach, use of profiles, use of standard

Objective: Developing competency in dealing with emergencies and engine failures in all phases
of flight.

as all other emergency checklists.
