, “Bark Above the Rest Craft Bazaar” is an excellent


opportunity for artists, craftsmen, & shops to display a wide variety of handmade gifts & crafts to kick off the
holiday shopping season in a beautiful setting. The Taiwanese American Cultural Organization (T.A.C.O.) is a non-
profit volunteer service organization dedicated to the betterment of local community. Proceeds benefit local non-
profit animal rescues.

Date: Saturday, November 27th, 2010


Hours: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Location: Countryside High School, Clearwater, FL (corner of McMullen Booth
Road & SR580)
Fees: (A) $150 for an outside, 10x10 space (non-refundable &
non-transferrable)
(B) Non-profit organizations FREE (limited space)

Important
The "Bark Above the Rest Craft Bazaar" exhibits must be HANDMADE arts & crafts. In order to maintain a
diverse & exciting show for our customers, we will limit the amount of exhibitors selling similar types of wares.
Exhibitors will be categorized & selected based on the description & photographs provided. Exhibitors PLEASE get
your applications in early, as you would not want to lose your requested space or be declined participation because
your particular category of art or wares is closed.

To register...
1) Read the information in this packet carefully.
2) Complete & sign the Exhibitor Application.
3) Review & sign the Exhibitor Rules & Regulations page.
4) Return your completed application forms by mail with a check or money order payable to T.A.C.O. by Friday,
July 16th, 2010.
5) Include a self-addressed return envelope, 6" x 9" or larger, with appropriate postage (4 first-class stamps
suggested).
6) Submit at least 3 photos demonstrating the construction of your craft of ware(s). There must be sufficient
photos to represent ALL crafts or wares you plan to exhibit or sell at the show. If you display wares not
included in these pictures, you will be asked to remove those items from your booth. We also ask for 1-2
photos of your display itself. Please submit prints only (no slides). Computer printed photos are acceptable if
they are high quality & preferably on photo-type paper. Photos will be returned if your envelope is large
enough & has sufficient postage. Inclusion of your biography is optional; however, it will be helpful for
advertising & show promotion purposes.

We want to maintain the integrity of the show by displaying only handmade arts and crafts. If the photos
submitted do not demonstrate that the construction of your wares follows this guideline, or no photos are
included with your application, your application will be returned to you. You may resubmit your application
for consideration with the correct information requested, NO EXCEPTIONS. For your convenience, you
may submit the requested photos via e-mail at CraftyChickEvents@gmail.com so long as you properly
reference your mailed application.

are a nonprofit organization, there are limited spaces & you must provide documented proof of your

Raffle
We would like you to donate an item or two to our charity raffle baskets that will benefit local animal
rescues. All items donated must be received prior to the show, no later than November 1st, 2010. As
incentive, we will announce your business name for each item donated at designated times throughout the
day. This will help with additional advertisement of your booth. Please describe the items that you will be
donating. If you run out of room, please list remaining items on the back.

rescues that truly need our help. They include (but are not limited to)…
Advertising…
Rest assured our advertising efforts will be fantastic! We will be running 30-second spots (commercials)
that include major television stations such as HGTV, Food Network, & Bay News 9. Our advertising will
also include (but is not limited to) the St. Petersburg Times, TBT (a free daily newspaper published by the
St. Petersburg Times, appearing five days per week), NuYou Magazine (a monthly, all gloss publication
that is distributed to local businesses), mailers, & flyer distribution. Information will be posted on many
popular websites such as Etsy, Craig’s List, & other database lists to give our event the full advantage of
being seen by a targeted audience.

Agreement
I hereby submit my application to participate in the T.A.C.O. & Crafty Chick Events, Bark Above the
Rest Craft Bazaar. I have read, understand, & agree to abide by the rules & regulations set forth & other
rules that may be established. I release & forever discharge the T.A.C.O. (Taiwanese American Cultural
Organization), Crafty Chick Events, Countryside High School, & all sponsoring organizations, businesses,
their representatives, & committees from responsibility, personal liability, loss, claim or damages arising
out of, or in conjunction with the Bark Above the Rest Craft Bazaar. I hereby certify that all display work
is completely handcrafted & created by the show applicant/participant. I understand that any mass-
produced item on display can cause expulsion from the show and/or future shows. I understand that there
are no rain dates & no refunds or credits of any kind.
I hereby grant T.A.C.O. & Crafty Chick Events permission to reproduce, display, & otherwise use for
publicity & promotional purposes the show participant’s name, photographs, & descriptive information
submitted with its application, as well as photographs or video taken of the show participant during this
show to be used for promotion of future shows.

1. All work must be original, handcrafted, created, & exhibited by the approved artists themselves. Buy-sell, kits,
imports, & mass produced items of any kind will not be tolerated. This rule shall be strictly enforced.

2. The number of exhibitors with like or similar works will be limited.

3. All applications shall be reviewed & screened prior to our acceptance. If your application is in any way
incomplete, your entire application will be returned to you, & you will need to resubmit said application for
reconsideration completed appropriately. You should receive a confirmation of your acceptance no later than
September 1st, 2010. If your application is rejected, your photos and check will be returned to you.

4. Checks submitted for entry will be deposited on or after August 1st, 2010. If you have an e-mail address,
confirmation of acceptance will be submitted via electronic mail. To ensure the most prompt response to your
application & for expedited show updates, please provide a legible e-mail address.

5. Should you display any craft or wares in your booth different from the items stated in your application, which
were not approved during the application process at the event, you will be requested to remove such media or
be subject to expulsion from the event.

6. You must submit at least 3 photos demonstrating the construction of your craft of ware(s) from start to finish.
There must be sufficient photos to represent ALL crafts or wares you plan to exhibit or sell at the show. If you
display wares not included in these pictures, you will be asked to remove those items from your booth. We also
ask for 1-2 photos of your display itself. Please submit prints only (no slides). Computer printed photos are
acceptable if they are high quality and preferably on photo-type paper. Photos will be returned if your return
envelope is large enough and has sufficient postage. If the photos submitted do not demonstrate that the construction of
your wares follows this guideline, or no photos are included with your application, your application will be returned to you.
You may re-submit your application for consideration with the correct information requested, NO EXCEPTIONS. For your
convenience, you may submit the requested photos via e-mail at craftychickevents@gmail.com so long as you
properly reference your mailed application.

7. Booth size is 10x10. Booth space assignment is based on first-come, first-serve basis.

8. Exhibitors must provide their own tables, chairs, tents/canopies, display hardware, etc. Your tent/canopy and
display must be strong enough to withstand harsh weather – weights are required to be used during the show if
you are outside. Staking IS NOT permitted.

9. Electricity is not available for this event. Generators are not permitted.

10. Saturday check-in & set-up will be between 6:00am - 9:00am. Vehicles should be unloaded and out of the show
area no later than 8:00 a.m. Dollies are highly recommended for set-up and breakdown. We will promptly open
the gates at 9am. If your space is not occupied by 8:00 A.M., you will be considered a “No Show” and your space
will be given away without refund. Designated exhibitor parking will be enforced. Parking in patron-designated
spaces will not be tolerated.

11. There will be a specified breakdown procedure, wherein you will be provided a breakdown ticket to enter show
grounds only after you have completely broken down & packed your booth to ensure vehicles proceed in & out
at an effective pace to get everyone in/out quickly & safely.
12. You will be responsible for researching, collecting and reporting all applicable local and state sales taxes to the
appropriate department of revenue. Out of state exhibitors must also adhere to their individual state laws.

13. A $35.00 bank fee will be charged on all returned checks. The check amount plus $35.00 shall be thereafter
payable with a money order or cashier’s check to secure your acceptance into the show.

14. Tables are to be covered to the ground completely, front & back.

15. Exhibitors will leave their exhibit space clean on Saturday after packing up on Saturday afternoon. A cleaning
fee of $25 will be assessed for all those that do not respect this rule.

16. Absolutely no alcoholic beverages allowed. There will be designated smoking areas. Smoking in/near booths will
not be permitted.

17. Boxed lunches will be available for purchase at the check-in/registration table. Other foods and drinks may be
purchased at the concession area beginning 8:45am.

18. Sharing of booth space is NOT permitted. Each exhibitor must apply separately.

19. The Taiwanese American Cultural Organization, Crafty Chick Events, Countryside High School, the
sponsoring organizations, businesses, their representatives & committees reserve the right, at its sole discretion,
to require an exhibitor to withdraw from the show. In such event, the Taiwanese American Cultural
Organization will refund any monies paid directly to it by said exhibitor. Exhibitor shall have no recourse nor
shall the Taiwanese American Cultural Organization, Crafty Chick Events, Countryside High School, Pinellas
County be liable in any way for any indirect, direct, consequential, lost profits, or any other damages that may
be incurred by the exhibitor.

20. Because The Bark Above the Rest Craft Bazaar is held both outdoors, the Taiwanese American Cultural
Organization, Crafty Chick Events, Countryside High School, the sponsoring organizations & businesses, their
representatives & committees cannot be responsible for weather, ground conditions, or other factors beyond
our control. Booth spaces may be on grass, dirt, concrete, or asphalt surfaces, & may have uneven areas. Rain,
wind, & other weather conditions may be present. We will do our best to accommodate all exhibitors & their
needs, & we request that exhibitors remain considerate of their customers, fellow exhibitors, & the volunteer
staff organizing & running the show. Fees are non refundable, non transferable.
