1.

Explain the socio-cultural, economic, political, and

spiritual situation of Brgy.
The socio-cultural, economic, political and spiritual status of the barangay is
very high. The barangay has a very complex socio-economic status and
environmental consequences due to poor home, environmental condition,
sanitation, specifically inadequate living space. Even though their situation is
like that their community shows the traditional manner of kabayanihan they
are helping each other in spite of hardships and all the trials they have
encountered; they got everyone's back in times of crisis.
The families in the community has hard time in providing a home
environment conducive for health maintenance because they have limited
financial resources but they are able to live normally and practically due to
their high economic status being business persons and through each
individuals effort they are able to maintain their economic status in their
community by helping one another.
The politicians in the area are very active and showing their care and actions
maybe because it's almost election but as said by a resident their community
barely receive any help from them in terms of their living. Political issues are
somehow high because of the incoming election but somehow supportive in
terms of their needs if they need some financial problem. The spiritual belief/
faith also in the community is still there though they have much time in
going or attending masses because they are devoted to the Nazarene. In
spite of their situation right now they remain religious and faithful.

2. Discuss the work/livelihood of most of the people in this

community.
The living of most of the people in that community is not highly profitable; as
the resident said that she thinks their livelihood is just weather weather
lang kung may maraming customer, they are just depending on one
business that is not that sure if they could be able to bring on their meal for
a day. They are just like most of the common vendors in the streets as she
said they are selling goods, fruits& vegetables, etc. as what we usually see in
the surroundings of Quiapo Church. In terms of their income it is just average
for their normal simple business everyday but she trying to cope it up by
looking for additional work such as rendering laundry to some of her
neighbourhood just to establish living of her kids due to a single mom. And
most of the boys in their community is working as a labor as their side-line

and as a driver for their spare time. The source of their income in everyday
living usually comes from selling products.

3. In your own understanding, how does a family live in a

living condition? Explain further.
The people in the community has different jobs/works. Some of them has a
profession and working in offices. Some are street vendors or sari-sari store
owner. There are also these least fortunate one because of their low
educational attainment and really dont know what to do in life thats why
there are some scavengers and some beg money and food from other
people. As what we saw in the area the people are mixed, there are some
that are really oppressed and some that are just in the middle status in terms
of financial just enough to provide their needs and the needs of their family.
They are trying each and every day to do something monetizable in order to
make up for a day. They live simply and others are not worrying if they have
something to eat for a day as long as they are having fun in playing
gambling or just sitting down and planning to do anything.

4. Give your reasons why are people in the community

remained poor? What factors leading them towards this
condition?
They are somewhat like taking opportunities for granted, there are a lot of
rockets we can have in a city, it is just a matter of strategy and guts a person
has, they remained like that because they even didnt bother to try things
and others are already thinking that it is hard they cannot do it. Other people
also dont like to have an employer instead wants to be the employer itself.
The girl we interviewed should had have a better life if her partner in life is
helping her to raise their three siblings and didnt leave them without even
supporting them, if he has that reasons behind why he left them that is really
unacceptable because you should stand for what you have committed and
dont just vanish in an instant. And as what we have scrutinized some people
have low educational attainment and doesnt have a regular work because of
that and some people are shy to look for a job because of their education
level. And one most common factors that they have is the bad value of a
Filipino that is Bahala Na. They have a lot of siblings without even thinking
if they are financially ready. And lastly they are always enjoying in gambling
and lazy to go to work and just depending of their partners or children to
strive in looking for money if the family already have money it will just be
used in gambling afterwards then nothing is happening in their family itself

there is no progress within themselves, how much more for their community
if from the family itself doesnt show progress. They will always remain poor
because of that.

5. How will you connect the value of becoming a FEATINIAN

in your exposure with the poor living in Brgy.?
We can connect it through the following core values of being a Featininan
Integrity, Scholarship, Accountability, Equality, Patriotism. In integrity we can
develop the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles or the
ethics we already have, scholarship is the character, qualities, activity, or
attainments of a scholar : LEARNING by our short time with them we learned a
lot especially the traits of being a scholar; accountability is The obligation of
an individual or organization to account for its activities,
accept responsibility for them, and to disclose the results in
a transparent manner. It also includes the responsibility for money or other
entrusted property we were able to recognize whats the true meaning of
accountability and understand it by listening to their situations. Equality is
given to everyone as far as what we understood from their situations it
depends on how the person grabs the opportunity, Equal opportunity is a
stipulation that all people should be treated similarly, unhampered by
artificial barriers or prejudices or preferences, except when particular
distinctions can be explicitly justified, Social equality is a state of affairs in
which all people within a specific society or isolated group have the same
status in certain respects. And lastly is patriotism is what they really shows
love that people feel for their country because they wont really want to work
in other country and they just want to work for their country and they dont
want to leave their own country. We are somewhat like molded by them in
realizing their perspectives in life that help us realize that being a Featinian
with the exposure with the poor living in the brgy. We were able to ascertain
that we have the values of being a true Featinian and it is more fostered
because of what we heard from them.
