    On behalf of the department of Civil Engineering, extension activity for the
    current academic year (2016-17) begins on 20.08.2016 in the name H4H (Habitat for
    Humanity). As a part of this activity, an orphanage Universal Peace Foundation near
    Karumathampatti was selected and donated.
    With the contribution of the department staffs and students, cash and old
    belongings were donated. Four students from second year civil, six students from third
    year civil and two non-teaching staffs along with the coordinator went to the orphanage.
    The orphanage consists of 333 members which include orphans at all age groups, old
    age people, physically and mentally challenged people and widows.
    The members in the orphanage felt happy for our visit. We distributed sweets to all
    the children present there. The collected amount of Rs.6000/- was donated which will
    help them for their wellness. The faculty and students are very much satisfied and all
    interested in continuing the same in future.
