HARRY POTTER AND THE PHILOSOPHER'S STONE

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is
the first book in a series of seven, was
published in the UK on 30 June 1997 and in
Spanish in March 1999.
This book is fiction genre, is one of the
best selling books in the history, estimates
of its global sales in excess of 110 million
copies.
The story is told in the third person, from
the point of view of our protagonist, Harry,
and is composed of seventeen chapters.
The story is quite simple and quick, with
many funny lines and few descriptions.
Personally, I would have liked a little more
to describe the magical world and the characters, I really think that falls
short descriptions.
At first, we know the "family" of Harry, his uncles and cousin, with whom
he lives, and it is impossible not hate. From the moment when Harry
meets Hagrid, I could not put the book down. Entering more as we go
into the magical world, knowing teachers, peers and fantastic creatures
plot hooks you completely.
The characters become unmistakable, especially by the diversity found.
We have the fun Ron and the smart Hermione. Then we went through
teachers, most certainly quite strict, and the director Albus Dumbludore,
one of the most powerful wizards and ensures the safety of Harry, like
Hagrid, the keeper of the forest and who introduces our hero to Magic
world. We also have to Voldemort, our antagonist and villain most feared
of all. There are many characters that stay in your memory, I might even
mention the ghosts who live with the students at Hogwarts!
The finish is not too open, because only leaves us with some questions
about Harry and his past.
At the end, I was surprised by the amount of things that have happened
in so few pages, but this must be attributed to the ease of Harry to get
into trouble.

In conclusion, Its a magic book, full of adventure, which does not decay
at any time and opens the door to a world history and amazing. I
understand why it is so famous.

Harry Potter y la piedra filosofal es el primer libro de una serie de siete, fue
publicado en el Reino Unido el 30 de junio de 1997 y en espaol en marzo de
1999.
este libro es de genero de ficcin y literatura, se trata de uno de los libros ms
vendidos de la historia, las estimaciones de sus ventas mundiales superan los
110 millones de copias.
La historia est contada en tercera persona, desde el punto de vista de nuestro protagonista, Harry,
y esta compuesta por diecisiete captulos. La narracin es bastante sencilla y rpida, con muchos
dilogos divertidos y pocas descripciones. Personalmente, me habra gustado que describieran un
poco ms el mundo mgico y a los personajes, realmente creo que se queda corto en
descripciones.
Al principio, conocemos a la "familia" de Harry, sus tos y primo, con los que vive, y es imposible no
odiarlos. A partir del momento en que Harry conoce a Hagrid, me fue imposible soltar el libro.
Conforme vamos adentrndonos ms en el mundo mgico, conociendo profesores, compaeros y
criaturas fantsticas la trama te engancha completamente.
Los personajes se hacen inconfundibles, sobretodo por las diversidad que encontramos. Tenemos
al divertido Ron y la lista Hermione. Tema que esta ltima no me agradara tanto como en
las pocas pelculas que alcanc a ver, pero se ha vuelto una de mis favoritas. Luego pasamos por
los profesores, la mayora bastante estrictos por cierto, y el director Albus Dumbludore, uno de los
magos ms poderosos y que vela por la seguridad de Harry, al igual que Hagrid, el cuidador del
bosque y quien introduce a nuestro protagonista al mundo mgico. Tambin tenemos a Voldemort,
nuestro antagonista y el villano ms temido de todos. Son muchsimos personajes que se quedan
en tu memoria, hasta podra mencionar a los fantasmas que conviven con los alumnos en
Hogwarts!
El final no es demasiado abierto, pues solo nos deja con algunas dudas sobre Harry y su pasado.
Al terminar, me he sorprendido por la cantidad de cosas que han sucedido en tan pocas pginas,
aunque esto debemos atribuirlo a la facilidad de Harry para meterse en problemas.

En conclusin, un libro mgico, lleno de aventuras, que no decae en ningn momento y nos abre
las puertas a un mundo e historia asombrosos. Ya entiendo por qu es tan famoso.

THE FAULT IN OUR STARS

This is a book with novel genre, The book is narrated by our protagonist, who has
cancer with metastases in the lungs, which forces her to carry an oxygen tank
everywhere. She attends a support group for children with cancer, let by Patrick. That's
where he met Augustus, a very handsome boy with bone cancer unabated, which cost
him a leg. Hazel has always wanted to know what happens after the outcome of his
favorite book An imperial pain, why Gus makes his wish come true taking her to Europe
to speak personally with the book's author and unforgettable moments.
Both have a well-defined, but different personality. Hazel is a strong girl who wants to
make the most of the time left, it's pretty smart and sarcastic. Gus has already faced
cancer, so their thinking is unmatched and has a formidable humor. I must say that the
protagonists have captivated me completely, are different from those usually seen in
children's literature and I greatly empathized with them. Among the secondary
characters include Van Houter, writer Hazel's favorite book, which is not what she
expects and has a unique history with him; Isaac, another boy with cancer support
group, friend of Gus and thanks to which Hazel meets the love of his life; Hazel and
parents (mostly the mother) who have a pretty hard task with him, they must spend
most of his time to the care of her daughter every night and wonder how long you have
left.
The story is harsh and pessimistic, but with an unforgettable message.
Despite all the praise I gave him the book, there were two problems when I read it: I
had a ridiculously high expectations and someone had first sought me finish. Maybe it
was for these reasons that history as much as I did not expect or put me at all sensitive
(although not very weepy floor).
Anyway, that's not hold back: This is a book that everyone should give it a chance.

El libro est narrado en primera persona por Hazel, nuestra protagonista, que tiene cncer con
metstasis en los pulmones, lo cual la obliga a cargar con un tanque de oxgeno a todos lados. Ella
asiste a un grupo de apoyo para chicos con cncer, dirigdo por Patrick. All es donde conoce a
Augustus, un chico bastante guapo con cncer en los huesos sin remitir, el cual le cost una de sus
piernas. Hazel siempre ha querido saber qu hay despus del desenlace de su libro favorito Un
dolor imperial, razn por la cual Gus hace su deseo realidad llevndola a Europa para hablar
personalmente con el autor del libro y pasar momentos inolvidables.
Ambos tiene una personalidad bien definida, pero diferente. Hazel es una chica fuerte que
quiere aprovechar al mximo el tiempo que le queda, es bastante inteligente y sarcstica. Gus ya
ha ha enfrentado al cncer, por lo que su forma de pensar es inigualable y tiene un humor
formidable. Debo decir que los protagonistas me han cautivado por completo, son diferentes a los
que se suele ver en la literatura juvenil y he empatizado muchsimo con ellos. Entre los personajes
secundarios destacan Van Houter, el escritor del libro favorito de Hazel, que no es lo que ella
espera y tiene una peculiar historia consigo; Isaac, otro chico con cncer del grupo de apoyo,
amigo de Gus y gracias al cual Hazel conoce al amor de su vida; y los padres de Hazel
(principalmente su madre) que tienen una tarea bastante dura consigo, pues deben dedicar casi
todo su tiempo a los cuidados de su hija y todas las noches se preguntan cunto tiempo le queda.
El ritmo es gil y resulta atrapante, seguro no tardan nada en terminarlo.
La historia es dura y pesimista, pero con un mensaje inolvidable. No te pinta la vida de los
nios y adolescentes con cncer como una tragedia, ni es ste el protagonista, slo es el trasfondo
de la historia que va ganando mucho terreno al finalizar el libro. Tambin peca de dramtica, pero
al mismo llena de humor, por lo que estarn literalmente riendo la mitad del libro y llorando la
otra mitad.
A pesar de todos los elogios que le he dado al libro, hubo dos problemas cuando lo le: tena
unas expectativas rdiculamente altas y alguien me haba spoileado el final. Tal vez fue por estas
razones que la historia no me lleg tanto como esperaba ni me puso sensible en lo absoluto
(aunque no suelo ser muy llorona).
De todos modos, que eso no los eche para atrs: este es un libro al que todos deberan darle un
oportunidad.

I AM NUMBER FOUR

The hero of our book is Four, who is an alien from the planet Lorien,
which was devastated by the mogadorianos. Nine lorienses with their
respective guardians came to Earth to hide and wait for the right
moment to strike back. However, mogadorianos have different plans ...
Four is the one who tells the story, a teenager trying to hide on Earth
and stay low profile to avoid being discovered. This, together with Henri,
her guardian (or cpan) who is responsible for their care and guidance in
regard to the war against magadorianos lorienses. Both move to
Paradise, Ohio, a small town. In high school he meets Sam, who at first
seems to be just a geek obsessed with aliens, but it is much more.
And here's what I consider the negative side of the story: Four falls in
love with Sarah, is an obsessive love, a blonde with blue eyes so
incredibly perfect that his insipid and flat back. Whenever she appeared
(or whenever that he gave to talk about it) just wanted to advance to the
moment Four dealt with the really important things. I think this is the
reason why our protagonist sometimes acted childish and impulsive.
Bernie Kosar, dog Four, much more than I liked the couple.
The appearance of a character in the last hundred pages is what
returned my interest in the book, plus the real action begins here, and
most fantastic argument made before developed.

In conclusion, an entertaining book is to spend the afternoon with mixed

characters and a very interesting argument, engaging and I liked it
enough to give it an opportunity to the next, although I have more desire
to read the prequel, which deals on One, Two and Three, before his
death.

El protagonista de nuestro libro es Cuatro, quien es un extraterreste proveniente del planeta Lorien,
el cual fue devastado por los mogadorianos. Nueve lorienses junto a sus respectivos guardianes
vinieron a la Tierra para ocultarse y esperar el momento justo para contraatacar. Sin embargo, los
mogadorianos tienen planes diferentes...
Cuatro es quien narra la historia, un adolescente que intenta ocultarse en la Tierra y mantenerme
de bajo perfil para evitar ser descubierto. Todo esto junto a Henri, su guardin (o cpan) quien se
encarga de su cuidado y lo gua en lo que respecta a la guerra de los lorienses contra los
magadorianos. Ambos se mudan a Paraso, Ohio, un pequeo pueblo. En la secundaria conoce a
Sam, que en principio parece ser solo un friki obsesionado por los extraterrestres, pero que es
muchsimo ms.
Y aqu viene lo que yo considero el fallo de la historia: Cuatro se obsesiona enamora de Sarah, un
rubia de ojos azules tan increblemente perfecta que su vuelve inspida y plana. Cada vez que
apareca ella (o cada vez que a l le daba por hablar de ella) slo quera avanzar hasta el momento
en que Cuatro se ocupaba de las cosas verdaderamente importantes. Creo que esta la razn por la
cual nuestro protagonista a veces actuaba de forma infantil e impulsiva.
Bernie Kosar, el perro de Cuatro, me agrad muchsimo ms que la pareja.
La aparicin de un personaje en las ltimas cien pginas es lo que devolvi mi inters por el libro,
adems de que aqu empieza la verdadera accin, y se desarrolla ms el argumento fantstico que
se plantea antes.
En conclusin, es un libro muy entretenido, para pasar la tarde, con personajes mixtos y un
argumento bastante interesante, que engancha y me ha gustado lo suficiente como para darle un
oportunidad al siguiente, aunque tengo ms ganas de leer la precuela, que trata sobre Uno, Dos y
Tres, antes de su muerte.
