SECTION-C
The given figure shows the experimental set up of a meter bridge. The null point is found to be
60 cm away from the ends A with X and Y in position as shown.
When a resistance of 15 ohm is connected in series with Y the null point is found to shift by 10
cm towards the end A of the wire. Find the position of null point if a resistance of 30 ohm were
connected in parallel with Y.
State the principal of potentiometer. With the help of circuit diagram describe a method to find
the internal resistance of a primary cell.
Two capacitors have a capacitance of 25 F when connected in parallel and 6 F when
connected in series. Find their individual capacitances?
Calculate the equivalent resistance between points
A & B in the figure bellow.

Que.16.
Prove that the current density of a metallic conductor is directly proportional to the drift speed of
electrons.
SECTION-D
Two cells of emf 1.5V and 2.0V having internal resistance 1 and 2 respectively are connected
in parallel so as to send the current in the same direction through an external resistance of the
5. (a) Draw the circuit diagram. (b) Using Kirchhoffs law, find the current through each
branch of the circuit and potential difference across 5 resistance.

Que.17.
Use Gausss law to obtain an expression for the electric field due to an infinite long
straight uniformly charged wire.
Electric field in the above figure is directed along +X direction and given by
Ex=5Ax +2B, where E is in NC-1 and x in meter. A and B are constants with
dimensions. Taking A = 10NC-1 and B=5NC-1. Calculate
(i) the electric flux through the cube.
(ii) net charge enclosed within the cube.
OR
Obtain an expression for the capacitance of a parallel plate (air) capacitor .
The given figure shows a network of five capacitors connected to a 100 V supply.
Calculate the total charge and energy stored in the network.
