CHAPTER 6

SOCIO-ECONOMIC STUDY
INTRODUCTION
As a new business enterprise is established, it should consider not only generating profit
but also how it would contribute to the social and welfare benefits of the public. Every business
must consider how it would take part in the growth of the economy.
The socio-economic impact of the study will plainly discuss the positive qualitative and
quantitative effects of the business to its external factors.

Objectives: Economy, Environment, Community


a) to clearly indicate proper utilization of resources of the environment
b) to signify its positive effect in the economy of the country
c) to support the communitys objectives in terms of employment by providing additional
jobs for the residents
A. Environmental concerns
Our proposed business aims to satisfy both the needs of individual and entity. One
of the economic problems of the Philippines is the proper utilization of our resources. Since Iba,
Zambales produces more mangoes not consumed by its residents, we made it possible to at least
use them in an advantageous way. Also, our company will assure it is responsible to follow all
the laws, rules and regulations implemented by the Philippines concerning the proper
management of resources and any other environmental issues to become a socially responsible
manufacturer. To support this commitment, policies and procedures are developed within the
company with regards to related waste disposal management with a high degree supervision and
control to ensure full compliance.

B. Community contributions
The proposed business will benefit the community by providing additional jobs
to the residents and offering a reasonable salary according to employees skills and their
contribution to the success of the business. Also, it will promote Zambales as one of the wellknown places in providing the best tasting mango products. Moreover, the company will provide
scholarship programs to the qualified family member of the employees. Community projects
such as Livelihood Development Programs among families and communities, medical and dental
consultation & services will be conducted in partnership with hospitals, other businesses and the
government to ensure that the proposed business provides numerous contributions not only to the
employees but also to the entire community.

C. Philippine Government
. The proposed business warrants to the government that all the requirements that it
requires will be complied and satisfied. All fees from registration up to commencement of
operations will be paid. The proposed business will provide the government with the correct
amount of taxes and any duties that the proposed business is expected to discharge.
Overall, the proposed business will give the Government an additional source of income
to help promote the welfare of Filipino people.
