Book Review

Fashion Statement

The Great Gatsby is a book written by

the author F. Scott Fitzgerald. The
novel is about Nick Carraway, a
young rich lad who has moved to New
York. He lives next to Gatsby, a
mysterious man that throws weekly
parties. His cousin Daisy, knows
Gatsby from the past. The two
eventually reunite and have a love
affair that spans the summer. Gatsby
loves Daisy unconditionally, whereas
Daisy loves Gatsby for his money.
Gatsby eventually dies for a crime he
did not commit, and almost no one
shows up for his funeral, proving that
everyone loved Gatsby for his money.
Overall, I feel that The Great Gatsby
is a book with meaningful characters,
a well-developed plot, and relatable
themes. Fitzgerald portrays the 1920s
at face value. Few people were moral.
In the novel, Nick, the narrator is the
only morally correct person in the
novel. I only have a few complaints, I
feel that the book starts a little slowly.
The main parts of the plot really do
not start until about half way
throughout the book. I highly
recommend this book to anyone
looking for a book about the present.
The Great Gatsby is one of my
favorite books of the year, if not an
all-time favorite.

Today, I will talk about the fashion of

the bob. The bob is a short hair style
commonly seen on young women,
called flappers. It was originally
created in 1915, as the Castle Bob. It
has evolved over the past 10 years and
turned into wonderful trend. The
older generations find it to be
incredibly disrespectful, but I quite
like it. It is a new hairstyle that
expresses the new rights of women of
the day.

Great Gatsby Foreshadowing

- F. Scott Fitzgerald's book, "The Great Gatsby", is a new book that came
out earlier this year. SPOILER ALERT! This article talks about
foreshadowing present in the book. Do not read this article if you wish to
discover the ending of the book on your own. In chapter one, Nick
discovers Gatsby staring out across the water. His body language shows
optimism and a strong sense of yearning. Nick quickly looks away, and
when he looks back Gatsby has vanished. This scene represents Gatsbys
love for Daisy. The green light represents the love that Gatsby has for her.
When he vanishes, it foreshadows that Daisy and Gatsbys love will vanish.
Another instance of foreshadowing is the car crash in chapter 3 after one of
Gatsbys parties. This event connects to Daisy crashing into Myrtle, killing
her.
