Increasing Oracle
Processes

BrixWorx Installation guide

BrixWorx Embedded Oracle Installation guide

When creating a new database. If a user creates a database in release 8.0

(for example) we do not increase the processes value to 8.6 levels when
upgrading to 8.6. If users experience connection errors they can contact
support to increase the init.ora processes value to that in the corresponding
file in the $BXROOT/oracle/CreateDB/pfile.

Chapter 3, New Features

Test Features

For more information. Refer to the BrixTest Suite Reference Guide.

Turnup test with
TWAMP
encapsulation -FR
2113

The TurnUp tests must be able to perform turn-up testing using TWAMP
encapsulation.
When TWAMP encapsulation is selected on the EtherSAM or RFC2544
Turn Up tests:
a Using Custom Source MAC selection on the Services UI page is

not allowed.

b Even if 'Loop-up Remote Device' is selected in the General

Configuration tab, loop-up is not supported for either TWAMP or

OAM. Loop-up messages will be prevented for TWAMP and OAM
encapsulation modes by the test plug-in.
c Even if 'Allow non-unicast source MAC address' or 'Allow nonunicast destination MAC address' are selected in the General
Configuration tab, non-unicast source and destination MAC
addresses are not allowed for TWAMP.
d All service(s) in a test instance running TWAMP must share a
common UDP destination port. The FPGA will use this port to
detect TWAMP traffic. The corollary to this is that all Layer 4 (nonTWAMP) UDP service(s) on the same interface (across all test
instances) may not reuse this UDP port. Neither the UI nor the test
plug-in enforce this rule. The UI can check that TWAMP and
Layer4 UDP destination ports do not collide on the same test
instance, and generate an error when they do. However, there is no
check across all test instances for collisions.
e There are 16 possibilities for TWAMP UDP destination port, one
for each test instance. The TWAMP UDP destination ports can be
duplicated across TWAMP streams on different test instances
without any issue. All TWAMP streams across all test instances can
use the same UDP destination port.
For more information. Refer to the BrixTest Suite Reference Guide.
POLQA Support FR 2030

Include POLQA support to the following Brix Active tests:

SIP Service Active Test

SIP Network Active Test
RTP Network Active Test

For more information. Refer to the BrixCall Advanced VoIP Reference

Guide.
VoLTE Active Test
POLQA Support FR 2471

Include POLQA support for the VoLTE Service Active Test.

For more information. Refer to the BrixCall Advanced VoIP Reference
Guide.

KNOWN ISSUES IN BRIXWORX

RELEASE 8.6
This chapter describes known issues in BrixWorx Release 8.6.
In this chapter

This chapter contains the following section:

Section

Page

BrixWorx

13

BrixTest

14

Brix CLI

15

BrixWorx
The following known issue is reported for BrixWorx:

SA-32954 In the Additional Services section of the Verifier

Information page, when we select the Load radio button in the
TWAMP Responder section, and select the Mode as Light, a UDP Port
Range needs to be configured.
Workaround The TWAMP Responder section needs to be
completely removed from the Additional Services section as the UDP
port range are already configured while creating the SLA.
The SNMP Poller Engine, which is part of the NID Manager, has been
updated in 8.6 to fix certain issues, but has not yet been tested. As a
result, the SNMP Poller Engine must not be used in the GA release, but
wait for the SP1 release.

Chapter 4, Known Issues in BrixWorx Release 8.6

BrixTest
The following known issues are reported for BrixTest:

SA-32174 When Use default option is selected in the Use Any Source
Interface parameter of the HTTP Active test and HTTPS Active test, it
does not work.
Workaround On the Verifier Information page, in the Test Interface
option, the value for Use Any Source Interface parameter in the IPv4
Settings section must be similar to the value for the Use Any Source
Interface parameter in the IPv6 Settings section. The values must not
be set to Use default.
SA-32830 Ethernet Reflector on BV3100 Verifier does not work
with Turn Ups OAM frames. The turn up OAM frames get filtered by
FPGA and do not pass to IP stack.
SA-32209 When configuring a TCP Throughput Client or Server
test, an IP address must be supplied as source IP address. In order to
configure this IP address, the user must do the following:
a Enable Advanced mode
b Select an Interface Category and
c Copy the IP address of interface category in the Source IP address
field.
SA- 33664 In the TCP Throughput Client Turn Up tests, the packets
generated by the server do not get marked with the server's configured
DSCP value.
Workaround The DSCP value must be provided.
SA-33666 In the TCP Throughput Server Turn Up tests, if the default
Listening IP Address is set to 0.0.0.0 and this IP address is later on
changed to a specific IP address, the server still responds to any IP
address.
SA-33684 The PDF version of the test results of the EtherSAM Turn
Up Test and RFC2544 Turn Up test are not readable.
SA-33656 The TCP Throughput client reports a smaller number of
sent frames than it actually transmitted. At the end of a TCP session,
the TCP Client Throughput Test plug-in performs a final read of test
statistics. This final read is occurring immediately before the TCP
session is closed. Reading stats before the end of the session causes the
TCP Client Transmitted Frames and Retransmitted Frames counters to
understate the actual counts and causes the TCP Client Transmitted
frames and TCP Server Segments Received counters to be out of
agreement. There is no workaround for this issue.
FR 1843:

Chapter 4, Known Issues in BrixWorx Release 8.6

Brix CLI

15

SA-33189 In the TWAMP test, the Maximum Network Outage

frame Count can report an extra frame if the outage interval
happens to be at the end of the run - reporting interval.
SA-33305 In the TWAMP test, the reported number of out of
order packets from the reflector to sender can be incorrect when
packets are reordered between the TWAMP sender and reflector.

Brix CLI
The following known issues are reported for Brix CLI:

SA-33182 The ntpstat CLI does not work for BV3100. The
console, telnet or ssh session is lost when the command is executed.
Workaround Use the ntpq -crv command to read the NTP system
variables refid, rootdispersion and poll, which correspond to ntpstat's
NTP synchronization state, accuracy and poll interval (2^poll)
respectively.
