The document instructs students to create their own list of 95 theses, following Martin Luther's example of criticizing the Roman Catholic Church, by identifying issues in their school handbook and explaining why each issue is problematic. The document provides space for students to write out 11 sample theses.

Martin Luther & The Reformation: Create Your Own 95 Theses

DIRECTIONS: As we discussed in class, Martin Luthers 95

Theses where a list of criticisms as a way to try and reform
some of the misguided practices of the Roman Catholic
Church. Using your school handbook, see if you can create
your own 95 Theses in an attempt to follow in Luthers
reformer footsteps.
Make sure with each thesis you (1) state the issue and (2)
explain a possible reason for why this issue is a problem. Be
ready in classroom discussion to defend your stance and offer
a possible solution(s).
WARNING: Luther did not harshly criticize his superiors and neither will you. Please
make sure your theses are constructive criticisms and school-appropriate for
classroom debate.
