century in various fields. He has also given the comparison between the year
1960 and the present.

World Population
The most optimistic of the world population by the year 2050 at above
10000 million when compared to the current population 4200 million with
increased longevity and improved health care are likely to have several
drawbacks.

Better Health Care

The large longevity of human life is due to availability of antibiotics or
modification of diet jogging and exercises improves health care extending
the human life span beyond 110 years.

Infrastructural Changes
The infrastructural changes improved distribution and reduced the
spoiling of the food and improved the productivity of the crops.

Genetic Engineering
New plant varieties obtained through genetic engineering which are
photosynthatically efficiently, uses less water and tend to be self fertilized.
Tropical Agriculture
Tropical agriculture will open billions of acres of land currently
unusable. This requires development of fundamentally new training
techniques that utilize the patterns of heat and rain to their advantage.

Natural Resources
By the year 2050 our conventional petroleum resources will have
substantially exhausted. The price of the petroleum products remains very
high and it will be impractical to burn it.

Electricity Generation
Now-a-days it is a challenging issue regarding electricity generation. All
the techniques we use today will mostly be of no use as the resources
required will be exhausted. So by the year 2050 we should be using
renewable sources like Solar and electricity through nuclear fusion.

Technology
Technology seems to come in waves in field of energy. There are 3
other waves of technology that will blossom to a large extent in the coming
years they are electronics, genetics and psychology.

Electronics are blossoming now and in a decade or two we can

genetic diseases like anemia.

Psychology
By the year 2050 psychology plays a vital role. Today there is no clear
understanding about our mind. Knowing how our min stores our memories
and retrieved we can improve education rehabitalation personality
development and knowledge.

Space Technology
In the next century space may provide an alternative to war. Space
after all offers the potential advantage maybe obtained without killing as it
may permit nations to develop advanced technology without building
weapons. Space discoveries with respect to the cosmos the earth becomes
smaller as the result of growing population, the limitless boundaries of
space which begin to open to get into imagination.

Summary of the Poem

The black skin complexion boy was born in the southern wild of Africa.
In this poem he bothers about his own identity. The little black boy explains
that though his son is black due to heat of the sun his soul is as white as an
English child. The boy takes the lesson taught by his mother on how to live
in this world created by god.

The god gives light and life to all and also gives comfort and joy to
everyone. His mother says that we are put on the earth to learn and accept
god`s love. Black skin is like a cloud that will be dissipated when his soul
meets god in heaven. God loves all humans equally.
God brings up the colors of white which is often associated with good
things like angels and black color is often associated with bad things like
dark ess. The poe The Little Bla k Bo e ters o a spiritual a ake i g
through a divine love that transcends racial differences.

First stanza of the poem conveys the little black boy`s intense pain and
agony arising out of racial consciousness. The boy feels a sense of self
hatred and inferiority complex on account of his being black. The little black
boy feels that he is not favored by god because he is deprived of light, but
favors an English child who is white in color.

In the second stanza the poem offers his mother consoling the little
black boy. The mother tries to comfort his pain and agony. God treats all as
equal in heaven. She tells that god gives light to everyone on the earth. The
rays of the sun give equal joy to flowers, trees, animals and humans. God
sent humans on to earth to love one another. We should learn to give and
take love from one another. She tries to console her son by giving him a
feeling of pride and self-worth by telling him that black skin is better
adopted when compared to white skin.

Conclusion
In this poem Mr. Blake mainly focuses on the mental state of the little
black boy and the realization of racial differences.
