CREDITS
Ed Marlo should be credited for the All Around Square Up Glimpse, pg. 3.
Johann Carl Friedrich Gauss should be credited with the notion of subtracting one when
you see a nine and subtracting two when you see an eight, pg. 18.
This is something I was going to hold back on. Although, I am sure many of you would
have realized this before too long. This is a refinement on the idea of using the pretext of
sending the spectator information to acquire the proper color to clock.
Follow Diplopia to the point where you are sending the color of your card to the
spectator.
You will say all the same things but also include this, You are going to get this
rightand do you know how I know you will get this right?
Following the premise of the effect look at them in the eyes and say, Because, I have
given you the Power.
Heres where it gets even better. For no matter what they answer you will always
respond with, Perfect! See, I knew you would get it. Keep going with it, referring to
the Power, I believe in you.
Do not say the line, Thats the only clue I am going to give you. In accord with the rest
of the lateral, backdoor, 180 thinking in this effect and contrary to popular opinion; they
have actually just given you the clue needed to know which color of cards to clock.
Notice, now the routine will always play the same either way (no feigning
disappointment*); no matter what they say, you just agree.
I do feel it is easier when learning the routine to do it per the original, as it gives you
separate mental files with which to juggle the required information.
Again, thank you for purchasing Diplopia. I hope you feel this makes it even more pure
and that you will keep this amongst us.
Would also love to know any of your thoughts, tweaks, criticism, etc
*I do think this can be a nice theatrical moment in the routine; since at the end they will
succeed. You decide
