Be able to define in your own way what a hero and what a villain is and be able to examine and assesses our leaders and decide if
someone falls in either of the categories or falls outside what has been defined as "heroic" and "villainous".
After the webercise activity, you will be able to analyze and critique the practices of our government and understand that there is a
variety of media to use.
After the debates, you will be able to form and defend an oral argument with logical support (and have fun doing so).
Unit Summary:
This unit will focus on the U.S front of World War II, including the events that led up to the United States
becoming involved in the conflict. As historians, you will examine the response to the events of Pearl Harbor
and the effects that the attack had on citizens, including German and Italian citizens in the United states. we
will also look at those who participated at war, both on the fronts of battle and those who supported at home.
Our examination will focus on specialized forces that were employed during the war and on the changing role
of women during this time period. Our goal is to examine the effect that World War II had not just on the
European front, but in the United states and its population.
