The Future of DNA Storage Device

Storage device In 1979 we use of the audio cassette tape, which became widely used and popular. We
listened music by walkman and you record song with cassate tape. We used floppy disk In early 1996-2000
with capacity 110 kilobytes. After that time, we used CD-room for used the same physical format as the
audio compact disks to store digital data. the present time we use USB with capacity 32 GB or Internet-
based storage as dropbox, google drive etc.

How about storage device in the future?

Did you know that 1 Gram of DNA can store 1,000,000,000 Terabytes of Data for 1000 years?

The scientists found that DNA is a perfect data storage because DNA has the highest density and
believed to survive for one thousand years if Stored in a cold and dry place. DNA does not need electricity,
so will be no electricity bills.

Reading the DNA is very expensive right now, but the scientiests predict that cost will come down
exponentially within the next decade. We have could soon be storing photos, videos, and other types of data
on DNA to be seen by great-grandchildren.

DNA is a three dimensional media, with density capabilities of up to a zettabyte in a millimeter

volume. Some of this work is being done with artificial DNA, injected into genetically modified bacteria and
available genetic sequencer was used for this.

How to works?

Taken a chunk of data that would normally be stored in a file on a hard drive, and has translated it into the
genetic code of As, Cs, Gs, and Ts that represent the chemical building blocks of DNA. Then it asked
synthetic biology to manufacture 10 million DNA strands with those sequences of letters.

Its very Amazing!!!!

Comparison of Storage Media

However, DNA storage is in research by microsoft company and MIT. Hopefully in future time
we have enjoy this technology and can be a heritage for next generation.
