LISTENING SECTION
In this section of the test, you will have the chance to show how well you understand spoken English.
There are four parts in this section with special direction for each part.
PART I
Questions 1 and 2
In this part of the test, you will hear some dialogues and questions spoken in English. The
questions and the dialogues will be spoken twice. They will not be printed in your test book, so you
must listen carefully to understand what the speakers are saying.
After you listen to the dialogue and the question, read the five possible answers, and decide
which one would be the best answer to the question you have heard. Now, listen to a sample
question.
You will hear:
Man : "Do you go to the library very often?"
Woman : "Yes, I do. I love reading very much."
Man : "What do you like to read?"
Woman : "Novel."
What is the topic of the conversation?
A. How to borrow books in the library
B. Going to the library
C. Borrowing books
D. Novel
E. Reading hobby
The best answer to this question is reading hobby. Therefore, you should choose answer (E).
1. Woman : Sorry to bother you. Could you show me where nearest gas station is?
Man : Yes, go this way. Take the first turning to the left then youll see the Gas station on your right.
Narrator : From the dialogue we can conclude that .
2. Woman : Dont play outside, Jim Its raining hard.
Boy : Yes, mom
Woman : Thanks Come in Please
Boy : All right, Mom.
Narrator : What will the boy probably do?
PART II
Questions 3 to 7
In this part of the test, you will hear some dialogues or monologues spoken in English. The dialogues
or monologues will be spoken twice. They will not be printed in your test book, so you must listen
carefully to understand what the speakers are saying. After you listen to the dialogue or monologue,
look at the five pictures provided in your test book, and decide which one would be the most suitable
with the dialogue or monologue you have heard.
3. Woman : I think it is the most delicious fried chicken we ever eat.
Man : I dont think so. I have ever found more delicious fried chicken.

4. Man : Today I will give you a chemistry test. Dont cheat!

PART III
Questions 8 to 10
In this part of the test, you will hear some incomplete dialogues spoken in English, followed by
five responses, also spoken in English. The dialogues and the responses will be spoken twice. They
will not be printed in your test book, you must listen carefully to understand what the speakers are
saying. You have to choose the best response to each question.
Now, listen to a sample question.
Man : "Where are we going to stay?"
Woman : " A t t h e S u n H o t e l , n e a r t h e b e a c h . "
Man : "Why there?

Question for number 8 to 10
Redfeathers, the hen, was so-called because all her feathers were red. One day, the fox caught sight of her
in the farmyard and his mouth began to water. He ran home and told his wife to put on water for boiling a
chicken, and then he rushed back, and before Redfeathers knew what was happening, she found herself
snapped up and inside a sack, not even able to call for help.
Luckily for her, her friend the dove saw what had happened. She fluttered on the path in the woods, and lay
there, pretending to have a broken wing. The fox was delighted to and that he now had a first course as well as a
main dish. He put down the sack with the hen in it, and chased off after the dove, who began cleverly to hop
futher and futher away.
Redfeathers slipped out of the sack and put a stone in her place, then she too ran off. When the dove saw
that her friend was safe, she flew up into a tree. The fox then went back and picked up the sack, thinking that the
hen was still in it. When he got home, the fox tipped the sack into the pot of boiling water, but the stone splashed
it all over him, and he burned his greedy paws .
