2 Prerequisites
Ensure that health and safety regulations are observed at any given time during the site build.
The weight of the RF unit is close to 25 kg. As such two man lift is recommended.
2.1 HW
The following main HW components are required for the different configurations.
All L7/L18 dual sites require 2xFBBC or 1xFBBA+1xFBBC, and the second BB
extension card has to be FBBC.
It is highly recommended to use only FSMF with 2xFBBC cards in greenfield
deployment.
Please ensure FRPA 1/2/3 are connected to ports RF1/2/4 respectively on
the second FBBC.

** FPFD is a preferred piece of equipment. If not available DC power for RF units needs to be
prepared independently. In partially stacked (L7) and partially distributed (L18) build FPFD would
provide power only to stacked L7 RF modules.
*** Note: Thepreferred build should be based on FOSI SFPs. If a FOSA or FOSG is already installed
and alternation to the existing L18 build is not possible Optus Project Manager needs to approve
build with SFPs other than FOSI. Note fibre check needs to also be run to match the SFP type with
the single mode or multi-mode fibre used on site.
Below two cables need to be installed between collocated LTE FDD and LTE TDD sites in order to
enable Downlink Carrier Aggregation 3CC.

5 RF tails connections for 2T2R L7 configuration
Stacked L7 (FRPA in shelter)
Sector 1: A feed is connected to FRPA Ant 1, and B feed is connected to FRPA Ant 2.
Sector 2: A feed is connected to FRPA Ant 3, and B feed is connected to FRPA Ant 4.
Sector 3: A feed is connected to FRPA Ant 5, and B feed is connected to FRPA Ant 6.
20 / 55
Please follow below instruction to connect tails when FRPAs are on monopole / roof.
A feed is connected to FRPA Ant 1, and B feed is connected to FRPA Ant 3 at all 3
sectors.
Note:
L7 FRPA has no internal Bias-T at Antenna port 2, 4 and 6. Those ports are DC short. DC / AISG bus will
be pulled down together with connected antenna line devices, if L7 FRPA port 2, 4 or 6 combines with
any feed from other technologies as current master of MHA / RET.
Recommendation is to separate A and B feeds, combining A feeds within one antenna line; B feeds
following a separate antenna line (feeders, combiners and ALD). DC should be then provided to MHA
via A feeds to avoid DC short.
Ensure that L7 A feed is going to same combiner with A feeds from other technologies, L7 B feed is
going to same combiner with B feeds from other technologies.
21 / 55
DC stop may be required on FRPA 1 ANT 2 if 700/900 dual band or 700/850/900 tri -band MHA is
in use.
Connect the multimode LC to LC optical cable to the both FSMF main SRIO ports as per shown
connection diagram below.
22 / 55
7.2 HDMI Synchronisation Cable Installation
Connect the HDMI cable from Sync Out port of the 2300 LTE TDD FSMF to the Sync IN port of the
1800 LTE FDD FSMF.
IMPORTANT: Ensure that the exact cable length and Nokia product code for the cable is recorded
and tracked with the site build documentation.

8.7.2 L18 MHA commissioning
Please follow attached document to find out MHA product code and serial number. Same steps
are applied to L18.
32 / 55
The following procedure is for L7 MHA commissioning.
L18 Antenna Line Management settings remain unchanged. Therefore ensure the L1800 settings
are the same as prior the L700 FRPA radio module installation.
Scenario 1:
- L700 tails are connected to triplexer in shelter. L700 is sharing same antenna line as U9 /
VHA 850. 700/900 dual band or 700/850/900 Tri band MHA is controlled by U9 / VHA
850.
