    Herringbone Knit Scarf

    Materials:
    Size 13 needles
    Tapestry needle
    Crochet hook (optional, for fringe)
    2 balls Vannas Choice Lion Brand Yarn in
    Silver Heather
    Accent Pieces in Deborah Norville Serenity
    Active in Dark Grey

    Gauge:
    12 stitches = 2 in herringbone stitch

    Notes:
    For this project, the pattern will be mostly be
    worked straight in herringbone stitch with a
    selvage edge. For help with herringbone
    stitch, view tutorial above.

    Pattern:

    Cast on 35 stitches using long tail cast on.


    **If you do not plan on adding fringe, begin row 1 in right-side herringbone
    stitch and do not knit the last row.

    Row 1 knit.
    Row 2 purl.

    Continue in herringbone stitch until scarf measures 6 or desired length


    ending with a wrong-side row.

    Last row knit.


    Cast off.

    Weave in any ends. Add fringe between every other stitch at ends if desired.
