Ataxia-Telangiectasia Is Reported in All Regions of The World
Ataxia-telangiectasia is reported in all regions of the world. The world-wide prevalence of A-T is
estimated to be between 1 in 40,000 and 1 in 100,000 live births. With the exception of
consanguineous populations, individuals of all races and ethnicities are affected equally by A-T.
The frequency of ataxia-telangiectasia mutant allele heterozygosity was reported to be 1.4-2%
of the general population. In terms of gender, Ataxia-telangiectasia occurs equally among males
and females.
