    Dear Sir/ Maam

    Im writing this letter to apply for the post of intern for your company. I am currently a third year
    undergraduate at Indian Institute Of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad, majoring in Petroleum
    Engineering. I would like to be a part of Shell, one of the energy giants, and gain valuable
    insights into it. In particular, Shells continuous efforts to contribute to sustainable development
    truly inspires me and the corporation value will align with my interest and value.

    I am one of the top 4 students in my major out of 89 students and have maintained an CGPA of
    9.24 for the past three years. I am also involved in extracurricular activities and have represented
    both my department and college at various competitions. I am a fast learner who excels in
    Petroleum Engineering. My strong academic performance has laid a solid foundation for me to
    pursue an excellent career path in Shell. Moreover, I have a strong interest in Petroleum and
    Energy Industry.

    My past internship provided me relevant experience. During my Internship with Reliance (E&P)
    in KG-D6 and Shahdol Asset, I learnt about the Flow assurance related problems in Deepwater
    fields with excel and different correlation and production of unconventional CBM Gas.
    It also gave me a chance to know more about CO2 sequestraion , a technique to increase CBM
    production from Coal seams, on which Shell is working and researching in Quest (Canada), USA
    and Norway. KG-D6 Field also help to know more about the LNG terminal being built by Shell.

    I find Reservoir Engineering to be particularly interesting due to its challenging nature, plus its
    global importance to increase the productivity of fields to meet the ever-increasing demand of
    Oil and Gas Industry. Shell particularly interests me as it is involved in a wide range of projects
    including Enhanced Oil Recovery in North Sea, CO2 Sequestration in Canada, USA and
    Norway.

    I am currently holding the post of Head, Event Manager of the SPE ISM Chapter, Head,
    industrial Relation of the Petrotech ISM Student Chapter and Fundraiser in Kartavya, an NGO
    by ISMITES. After holding the position, I have taken these societies to new heights. These
    Societies have also helped me to develop professionalism and team work ethics that are an asset
    to the team oriented environment at Shell. I am confident of being an efficient team member
    who can also step up to the challenges of leadership positions when needed. I also possess other
    significant attributes such as integrity, adaptability and accountability which will bring value to
    your company. I believe my association with Shell will bring mutual benefits.

    At this point in my development, I am ready to utilize my education and gain work experience as
    an assessed intern at Shell. While my enclosed resume outlines my background, there is much
    more to share.

    I hope to hear from you at the earliest. I look forward to learning more about Shell and can
