Lesson 4 Salvation
Lesson 4 Salvation
Lesson 4 Salvation
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. - John 3:16
The meaning of Salvation or being saved is that we have been saved from our sins, believing the
Gospel that Jesus shed His blood, died and rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures 1
Corinthians 15:3-4.
We are saved from God's righteous judgement on sin Romans 5:9, which would mean if Jesus
Christ is not our Lord and Saviour we would be cast into the lake of fire for all eternity Revelation
20:15.
Because all people are sinners Romans 3:23, and sin separates us from a Holy God, God sent Jesus
Christ to die for the sins of the world 1 John 2:2. When we here the Gospel Ephesians 1:13 and we
believe in faith that Jesus Shed his blood, died and rose again Ephesians 1:7, that literally he took
the punishment we deserve, then we are saved from our sins and God's wrath upon us. Salvation is
very expensive it cost God everything John 3:16, He gave His only son to die for the sins of the
world and raised Him from the dead because He loves us and wants to spend eternity with us.
Salvation is Free
Salvation is a free gift given from God Ephesians 2:8-10, this means that you cannot work or earn
salvation, it does not matter how much of a good life you live or if you give money to the poor and
do lots of good things, that will not get you into heaven in fact God says your good deeds are like
filthy rags Isaiah 64:6, unless you have got Gods free gift of Salvation which is only found in Jesus
Christ Acts 4:12 and is the only way of Salvation John 14:6, you will not go to heaven but to hell.
When we get saved then we we start to live a holy life and want to be more like Jesus.
The Bible teaches us that there involves repentance in salvation Acts 3:19, repentance means to turn
away from something and go in the opposite direction, this means to be willing to ask forgiveness
of your sins and to turn away from them, God commands all to repent Acts 17:30-31. Salvation and
repentance go hand in hand, because proof of someone that is saved and repented is a changed life 2
Corinthians 5:17. Repentance is also a gift from God Acts 11:18.
Accepting Jesus into your life by faith is the only way to be saved Romans 10:9-10. When Jesus
says He saves completely Hebrews 7:25, this means that Jesus is not going to leave you in fear but
He gives you the Holy Spirit into your heart as a guarantee that you are saved Ephesians 1:13-14,
this means that God has claimed us as His possessions and that one day He will claim us Ephesians
4:30.

Questions
1) Turn to Hebrews 2:3. This talks about neglecting our Salvation. To neglect means to let
something decay and not take care of it. Do you neglect your Salvation? Do you do the things that
keep you a healthy Christian? Do you read your Bible, pray, go to church and fellowship with other
believers? Are you living a Spirit filled life? Or are you living a worldly life, do things that those
who believe in Jesus should not do. If you are neglecting pray to God and repent, ask to live a more
Spirit filled life, ask your Pastors to help you with your walk.
2) Turn to John 3:3. Have you truly been Born Again? Have you changed the old life you had for a
new life in Jesus? Or maybe you don't know if your saved or not. One evidence is the Holy Spirit in
your life, do you get convicted of sin? Is your life being more to be made like Jesus or this world? If
you have never been born again, Pray, repent ask for forgiveness of your sins, accept that Jesus shed
His blood, died and on the third day rose from the dead and ask Him in to your life and be your
Lord and Saviour and you will be saved. If your not sure of any of this ask your Pastor for Help.
