ANNEX 3: TEMPORALITIES MINISTRY GUIDELINES

TEMPORALITIES MINISTRY GUIDELINES

If the Parish so decides to continue her ministry of Temporalities instead of the


Parish Finance Council, these are some guidelines that can be used. However, after
three years, all the parishes are expected to set their Finance Council as mandated by
the Church.

Functions

a. Develops initiates and facilitates mechanisms for generating, developing and


mobilizing funds to support the temporal needs of the Parish.
b. Assumes responsibility for accounting, use, safekeeping, care and disposition
of the movable property of the Parish.
c. Assists and oversees the physical development of the parish, specifically the
church, rectory, formation center and columbary
d. Studies and develops creative ways of tapping the resources of the people for
self-reliant purposes. (Tithing Program and Abolition of Arancel System)
e. Prepares the annual budget of the Council and conducts budget hearings of
the Council, ministries and support groups
f. Performs such other functions that may be assigned by the Parish Priest

Qualifications of Members of Temporalities Ministry

a. Sufficient intellectual and psychological capabilities


b. The spirit of volunteerism
c. Respectable stature in the community
d. The willingness to undergo orientation and formation
e. A community-oriented attitude

A. Fundraising (Ways and Means) Committee

1. Plans and implements all specific, or general fundraising activities of the


parish
2. Performs such other duties as the Parish Priest may assign

B. Columbary Development

1. Coordinates with the Diocesan Columbary Administration the following:


a. the smooth operation of parish columbary and mortuary
b. the care of the crypts
c. the promotion and use of crypts

C. Construction and Physical Development

1. Plans and implements all projects related to parish church infrastructure and
physical development
2. Takes charge of the maintenance of the church building and its facilities
3. Keeps and updates the inventory of the parish properties
4. Performs such other duties as the Parish Priest may assign
