Task 1 : Planning an overview of the teaching sessions.

Discuss with your MST and note in Table 2 exactly which sessions you will implement over a
five week period.
Identify the specific theme and related learning outcomes to be addressed in the five week
block placement.
Make a list of useful resources available at the school that could be used to support learning
within this theme e.g. books, posters, flashcards, realia, games, audio/visuals etc.
Identify specific literacy outcomes to be addressed and resources available at the school that
could be used to support learning.
Identify specific numeracy outcomes to be addressed and resources available at the school
that could be used to support learning.
Discuss possible classroom displays and/or modifications to the dramatic play area that would
support the learning outcomes identified above
Explain using a sketch, the classroom displays you would like to create and/or modifications
to the dramatic play area that you would like to make in order to support the learning
outcomes.

Agree on which day per week that the student teacher will take full control of the classroom.

Identify how you will add value to this placement e.g. creating class books, audio / visual
presentations, organising a drama/role play performance, organising a class trip etc.
