NEW YORK CITY

New York City is the largest city in the United States. Over 8 million people live in it. It is
in the state of New York, which is in the northeastern United States.
The city includes all of Manhattan Island and State Island, and the western end of Long
Island. There are also many smaller islands.
The city is divided into five major parts called boroughs. Each one is also a country.

Empire State Building

The Empire State Building is located at 350 Fifth Avenue


Manhattan. It is the fifth-tallest skyscraper in the United
States and the 28th tallest in the world. It is an icon of
the city and of the entire country, it has been in various
films, books, TV shows… This building has incredible
views.

Central park

Central Park is an urban park in Manhattan. It is the


most visited urban park in the United States and one
of the most filmed locations in the world. There are
too many things to do, you can go on the traditional
carriage horses, you can roller-skate, play baseball…
There are also some restaurants.
Times Square

Times Square is a tourist destination and an


entertainment center. It is adorned with lots of
advertisements. It is the site of the annual New
Year's Eve ball drop and it attracts over a million
visitors every year.

Brooklyn Bridge

The Brooklyn Bridge was originally called the New York and Brooklyn Bridge and the East River
Bridge. It is one of the oldest roadway bridges in the United States. It connects the boroughs of
Manhattan and Brooklyn. It crosses the East river. You can cross it walking or by bicycle.

Madison square garden

Madison Square garden has been the name


of four arenas in New York City. It is the
largest indoor stadium in the city, home of all
kinds of sports.

Chinatown

Chinatown is a neighbourhood in Lower


Manhattan with a large population of
Chinese immigrants. The majority of
residents speak mandarin but they also
know English.
Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty is a sculpture on Liberty


Island. It is a gift from the people of France to the
people of the United States. Public access to the
balcony around the torch has been forbidden for
safety. It’s one of the most important icons in
New York.

Wall Street

Wall Street is a street which is the major


financial center of the US and symbolizes
the money market of the United States.

St Patrick‘s Cathedral

St Patrick’s Cathedral is a Roman


Catholic cathedral in the United States. It is
considered one of the most visible symbols of
Roman Catholicism in New York City and the
United States.
