I was born and raised in Raleigh, NC and have a family of 7. We
currently live in Clayton about 15 miles outside of Raleigh. I
decided in 2007 to return to school and obtain my bachelors degree
in computer science with an emphasis in networking and
information system security. I have an extensive background in
sales, which has helped me hone my people skill that will benefit
your company in various ways. From management in a large retail
environment to ownership of my own jewelry company, I have

Professional
While in school I have been working for RockingR a Dish Network
Experience
Satellite installation company as a field service manager/technician
specializing in customer service. Before this I began my 18-year
jewelry career in Raleigh, NC at Land’s Jewelers as a bench jeweler.
At that time I received my GIA diplomas in diamond grading and
color stones. From there I honed my repair and design skills
becoming an asset to the company. I left Land’s Jewelers to spring
my career in diamond sales spending a year at Clayton Jewelers
gaining management skills. In 1996 I opened Mike Smith Jewelers.
In those 7 years my venture increased from $100,000 to $450,000.
In 2000 to 2001 I was the number one Moissanite retailer for C3,
known today as Charles and Colvard. In 2003 I managed the
jewelry repair department of Sterling Jewelers until I transitioned
over to diamond sales for Sterling Jewelers retail division (Jared the
Galleria of Jewelry). From 2006 to 2007 I was one of the district’s
top diamond sales persons increasing my sales from $450,000 to
$875,000 becoming one of the top 10 diamond sellers in the district.
