COVER LETTER
To whom it may concern,

Throughout university I developed a practical appreciation for nancial markets by trading on

US-based equities with my own allowances, building commercial awareness and self-teaching

analytical skills. My interest in investment management was strengthened with my previous

internship in A n Hwang Asset Management. I was able to directly apply my knowledge

when I delivered a presentation on the macroeconomic issues surrounding the Malaysian

Ringgit to the Fixed Income investment team. I am currently undertaking an additional online

Geneva and UBS. I am eager to build upon this experience with an internship in Nomura this

summer, where I can further develop my skills and gain a more holistic learning experience

across investment management.

Through my roles in university societies in both King’s College London

and the London School of Economics, I have found teamwork to be
constructive and invaluable in producing results with quality and
e ciency – and indeed, a recent extensive study done by Google had
found work to be completed most e ectively when all members are
engaged in an open, collaborative environment. But for teamwork to fully
succeed I also believe each member must have the ability to succeed
individually, for it is this mutual strength and momentum that encourages
greater achievements and results.

I resonate with this teamwork-aligned orientation, and the greatest test of

this was my 7-week volunteering placement as an English teacher in
Recife, Brazil. Working with community leader Edy Rocha, I established
regular language classes alongside other volunteers from all over the
world. Living within the community itself I was able to understand their
needs and design the teaching syllabus to be relevant to their daily lives.
The classes attracted students ranging from 8 years old to 34 with toddler
in tow, and the project was featured in a documentary by local paper
Diario de Pernambuco. Through this experience I learned to be
