8 When all hopes to get money seemed lost, Lee , Sam and Raj
saw a purse fell off from a woman’s shopping bag.

5 The children was given the first job to wash Sam’s father’s
car but they made a mess and were scolded instead.

6 Mrs Green gave them a job that was to walk her dog and the
children accepted gladly.

3 Unfortunately when Lee asked his mother’s permission, she

couldn’t let him go because she had no money to give him for

7 However the dog misbehaved and ran off with a ball which
belonged to a girl in the park. Mrs Green paid Lee a pound but
Lee had to give the money to the girl when she came to complain
that the dog caused her ball to be flat.

- SAMPLE ANSWER-

I have a good friend . His name is Lee. He is a real great person and friend. There is this fair
in town that we want to go to. However, Lee doesn’t have the money . He is willing to do any
odd jobs that can help him to earn some money. To begin with, Lee is an honest boy. As his
friend, I have never seen him cheated anyone either family or friends. He is honest with his
work and I am sure anyone who takes him to work with will find him useful and helpful.

Besides, Lee is a very determined person. I have witnessed many times of his determination
in completing any tasks given to him. I believe you will not regret asking him to do work like
car washing or running errands for you as he will do it in the best of his ability. As his good
friend as well, I really admire his attitude positive attitude especially in being resourceful. He
finds ways and means to achieve his dream and goals be it long term and short term.

Finally, Lee is a hardworking person. Whoever hires Lee will be satisfied with his work. He
works hard and he is honest about it. Lee is a great boy with many fine qualities and now he
is looking for anyone who can offer him simple work as he badly needs some money. I vote
for Lee as an errand boy, wouldn’t you?

Dear Amir,

I just caught a movie last Saturday. It was Big Hero 6. I really recommend you to
watch the movie as it was so thrilling. I really like the story. It revolved around
determination, family love and friendship. The story was about a boy named Hiro. He was a
genius in Science just like you! He was accepted to a University at the age of 14, I think! And
the best part he had a supportive brother who helped him all the way. Unfortunately, his
brother died in a mysterious fire explosion and Hiro was devastated after that. His brother
left behind a nurse robot who became his best friend and also another 4 friends. They all
turned out to be super heroes after that! It was so exciting as they tried to nail down the
villain who Hiro believed to have murdered his brother. I want to tell you more but you really
have to go and watch the movie yourself. I love it so much because I could see how
important friends are in our lives just like how important you are to me , Amir. Friends are
the ones who help us in darker times and it is also shows how important to choose good
friends. Hey, if you are interested , let’s go and catch the movie this weekend. I don’t mind
