The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Planner is to partner with Site Supervisors, Process Area Owners, the Planning team and the Maintenance

Evaluate the need and procure related contract services to facilitate plant maintenance
Build and maintain cooperative working relationships with other departments, including Administration, Engineering, and Operations
Prepare scope of work documents necessary to obtain firm pricing for contractor work
Supervise represented employees within the guidelines of the applicable working agreement
Establish and maintain the current bill of materials for all current equipment and create bills of material for new equipment along with stock justifications for
these parts to be put in the warehouse
Act as process supervisor over assigned processes in the absence of the process owner
Ensure the correct parts and materials are procured and available for plant maintenance
Coordinates preventative and corrective maintenance using the Navy system (SKED and MFOM)
Sources obsolete and hard to find mission system components, hardware, support and test equipment
AA Degree
Fifteen (15) years’ experience in Navy weapon system maintenance and logistics support
Ability to objectively assess ship material condition, develop a plan of action to repair and execute plan successfully
3M Coordinator
Working closely with Regional maintenance supervision team to improve maintenance planning throughout the Region
Related university degree and four‐plus years’ experience OR eight‐plus years of previous field operations experience, OR equivalent mix of formal
education and experience
Maintenance Management Professional designation, field experience in a trade, or maintenance planning / engineering position would be an asset
Motivated self-starter that works well independently and in fast paced team environments

Maintenance planner is to assess safety requirements for jobs performed by team members. Safety audit checklists are issued with individual routines
Build Job Work Packs in advance of work being performed including kitting and staging of materials required to perform the task
Spare/repair parts are resourced to expedite delivery of required items in a timely manner with a focus on cost effectiveness
Planner is to maintain TPM criteria for plant equipment (labels, equipment numbers, location mapping, and signage)
Periodic purchases of spare and repair parts are conducted by planner in order to maintain plant production and operations equipment. Preventative
maintenance preformed on equipment assures reliability and dependability
Planner will provide direction to Maintenance team members in the repair and maintenance of plant equipment and inform fellow members of areas of
improvement to be accompanied by support documentation
It will be up to the Planner to initiate procedural observations into the CMMS system. Planner should have the capability of providing detail observations and
be able to communicate findings verbally and in writing. Planner should also be able to exercise decisions that lead to continuous improvement of
department organization and processes. There should be an inherent interest in learning the overall operation as operational needs interface with
department requirements
Reference technical manuals and interpret critical equipment requirements. Requirements for the position should include identification of mechanical and
electrical foundations, identification of component parts, being able to determine material requirements for repair routines
Position may require receiving plant deliveries and confirming that items comply with safety requirements; Planner may be called on to fill in for Storeroom
Attendant
Predictive Maintenance or Condition Based Monitoring Experience and Certifications: (Infrared, Vibration Analysis, Ultrasonic Emissions, Machine

Work related experience in leading and ensuring compliance with safety initiatives
Ability to identify root cause of problems and effectively initiate immediate corrective action to prevent reoccurrence
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with all associates
Demonstrated computer skills and proficiency in MS Office, other windows based programs and internet skills
Experienced with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems such as Maximo, SAP, or other CMMS applications
Must be willing to work holidays as needed, be “on-call” and provide rotating weekend support as schedule requires
