Your soul is not a passive or a theoretical entity that occupies a space in the vicinity of

your chest cavity. It is a positive, purposeful force at the core of your being. It is that part you
that understands the impersonal nature of the energy dynamics in which you are involved, that
loves without restrictions and accepts without judgement. – The Seat of the Soul, p. 31

Kant

another. – The Seat of the Soul, p. 43

It is not appropriate that we allow our actions to be

motivated by feelings of indignation, righteousness or
victimization. These feelings are the result of judgement that we
make about ourselves and the other person, assessments through
which we see ourselves as superior to another being.

3
If we act upon these feelings, not only do we increase the
karmic obligations of our soul, but we are also not able to enter
to these feelings and learn from them. Feelings as we shall see
are the means through which we can discern the part of itself
that the soul seeks to heal, and through which we come to see the
action of the soul in physical matter. The road to your soul is
through your heart. – The Seat of the Soul, p. 44

If we don’t judge, how can there be justice?

Gandhi was beaten several times during his life. Although on two occasions he nearly
died, he refused to prosecute his attackers because he saw that they were doing “what they
thought was right.” This position of non-judgemental acceptance was central in Gandhi’s life.
The Christ did not judge even those who spit in His face, and who subjected Him without mercy
to His pain and humiliation. He asked forgiveness, not vengeance, for those who tortured Him.
Did neither the Christ nor Gandhi know the meaning of justice?
They knew non-judgemental justice.
What is non-judgemental justice?
Non-judgemental justice is a perception that allows you to see everything in life, but does
not engage your negative emotions. Non-judgemental justice relieves you of the self-appointed
job of judge and jury because you know that everything is being seen – nothing escapes the law
of karma – and this brings forth understanding and compassion. Non-judgemental justice is the
freedom of seeing what you see and experiencing what you experience without responding
negatively. It allows you to experience directly the unobstructed flow of the intelligence,
radiance, and love of the Universe of which our physical reality is a part. Non-judgemental
justice flows naturally from understanding the soul and how it evolves. – The Seat of the soul, p.

Maxwell

following you who will set their feet where yours are set. – Robert E. Lee

Be wise in the use of time. The question in life is not how much time do we
have. The question is what we shall do with it. – Anna Robertson Brown

Storing up for the winters of life.
One of Aesop’s most famous fables is about an encounter between a
grasshopper and some ants. All summer long the ants had been toiling away
saving up grain for the long winter. All the while the grasshopper merrily – yet
foolishly – squandered his time without a care in the world, without making any
provisions for the cold season to come. When winter came, the grasshopper found
himself starving and begged the ants for food. They replied, “If you were foolish
enough to sing all the summer, you must dance supper-less to bed in the winter.
While leisure time is important for rejuvenating an overworked mind, idleness is just
a step away from foolishness. Think about the future that you deeply desire for
yourself and your family. Chart and take wise steps towards it. There’s nothing
wrong with stopping to smell the roses, as long as you keep moving along the
path.

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even
touched. They must be felt with the heart. – Helen Keller

Nasalroad, Chicken Soup for the Woman’s Soul, pp. 94-97

All of us are scarred by life; it’s just that some of our scars show more clearly than
others. Our scars do matter. They tell us that we have lived, that we haven’t hidden from life.
When we see our scars plainly, we can find in them our own unique beauty. They were the marks
of our life. – “the marks of life” by Diana golden, chicken soup for the woman’s soul, pp. 120-
122

Fitzgerald

Clafford

I’ve learned to rest in quite places now and then, and to leave behind
the things I no longer need to carry, like grudges, sorrows and regrets. I have
an inner strength, a gentle state of being, and I believe with all my heart that
no rampart will thwart me. – “Feather Light” by Melody Arnett, Chicken Soup for
the Woman’s Soul, pp. 210-213

Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them but I can
look up and see their beauty, believe in them and try to follow them. – Louisa May Alcott

Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul. Dream deep, for every
dream precedes the goal. – Pamela Vaull Starr

I believe that all success begins with spreading your “w.i.n.g.s.” – believe in your
“worth”, trusting your “insight”, “nurturing” yourself, having a “goal”, and devising a personal
“strategy”. And then, even impossible dreams become real. – “finding my wings” by Sue
Augustine, Chicken Soup for the Woman’s Soul, pp. 232-234

Age does not protect you from love. But love, to some extent, protects you from age. –
Jeanne Moreau

A friend is a gift you give yourself. – Robert Louis Stevenson

It takes a lot of understanding, time and trust to gain a close friendship with someone. As
I approach a time of my life of complete uncertainty, my friends are my most precious assets. –

First say to yourself what you would be; then do what you have to do. – Epictetus
There are always two choices, two paths to take. One is easy, and its only reward is that

The in journey between what you once were and who you are now becoming is where

the dance of life really takes place. – Barbara De Angelis

If you don’t day dream and kind of plan things out in your imagination, you never
get there. So you have to start someplace. – Robert Duvall

Knowledge is love and light and vision. – Hellen Keller

People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don’t
believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who
get up and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they can’t find them, they
make them. – George Bernard Shaw

The task ahead of us is never as great as the power behind us. –

Alcoholics Anonymous

It is not our abilities that show what we truly are. It is our

choices. – as stated by Albus Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the
Chamber of Secrets

If at first you don’t succeed, you’re running about average. –
Anonymous

They who give have all things; they who withhold have nothing. – Hindu Proverb

If it is to be, it is up to me. – Anonymous

Do you succumb to Laziness?
We commonly procrastinate or put off an activity altogether by saying “it will get done
eventually” or “someone else will do it”. Wrong! Being lazy and not taking responsibility are
wastes of time. Often the power of change is within us, but without our efforts things would fall
or go awry. You cannot rely help from others, only what your own two hands can accomplish on
their own. Hard work is a habit that needs constant attention. But be mindful that you are giving
your full effort to a project. Apply yourself, value your time, and don’t squander it hoping for help.

Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. – Goethe
And then the day came, when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the
risk it took to blossom. – Anais Nin
What leaps of faith are you willing to take?
Trying new things can give you a real zest for life. Pushing beyond your comfort zone in
a responsible way helps you grow confidence and creativity that you can apply to your everyday
life. Do not let fear control what you do or don’t do. While taking risk can be scary, doing
nothing is a big mistake, as it produces nothing fruitful within you. There is a direct relationship
between the things we achieve and the efforts we put forth to obtain them. To reach the fruit, you
have to climb the tree first!

Even if our efforts of attention seem for years to be producing no result, one day a light that is in exact proportion to them will
flood the soul. – Simone Well
What we can learn about patience from a diamond.
Trying and persevering – but failing – to see your goals can be frustrating. Margaret Thatcher once said, “you may have to fight a
battle more than once to win it”, and she was absolutely right. You’ve got to believe that you will succeed! Never admit defeat as long as time
and effort remain. Our greatest asset is patience; our greatest weakness is throwing in the towel. Banish discouragement and feelings of
impossibility by working hard, doing more, and not giving in. A diamond was only made beautiful after hundreds of years as a lump of coal.
The true measure of an individual is how he treats a person who can do him no good. –
Ann Landers

For sound sleep, no pillow is as soft as a clean conscience. – Anonymous

Once the game is over, the king and the pawn go back in the same box. –
Italian Proverb
Reinforcing healthy competition.
Competition is a natural part of life. We face competition for jobs, a
mate, and even the best parking spot at the store. Approaching these

8
situations with grace is an important way to model good relationship skills –
especially to our children. Often people get angry during competition, but try
to be mindful of how this frustration is unleashed. No one wants to be on the
receiving end of either a sore loser’s lack of composure or a boatful
winner’s lack of grace. Don’t gloat to your friend that your child can run
faster or read at a higher level than her child. Remember, after basketball
game concludes she is still your friend and you don’t want a moment of hot-
headedness to interfere with what really matters – your relationship. Modesty
can go a long way!

The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems
are your own. You do not blame them on your mother, the ecology, or the
president. You realize that you control your own destiny. – Albert Ellis

Adversity and loss make a man wise. – Welsh Proverb

Victory over trials.
The need to weather hard times is constantly part of our business
and personal lives. Do you ever think of these hurdles in positive light?
The next time you are faced with opposition, instead of looking at it as
a source of anxiety, view it as an opportunity! Can you apply what you
have learned to other areas of life? Will this experience make you
stronger and wiser next time around? Sometimes the worst and most
painful experience are the ones that help us grow the most. Having a
positive attitude can deflate even the scariest situation. Overcoming
adversity can help you achieve the extraordinary!

A smile is a curve that can set a lot of things straight. – V. Borge

The power of a positive face.
Have you contemplate how much a smile can change a person’s day? Both the person who smiles and the one who sees it are
positively impacted by such a small act. This seemingly tiny reflex can perk up a bad attitude, make you seem more warm and inviting, and
often pass some happiness on to others. So the next time your alarm goes off for your 5a.m. run or your dog barks in the middle of the night,
smile instead of grumbling. You’d be surprised how a positive face can in turn become a positive and motivational attitude!
Concentration is the ability to think of absolutely nothing when it is absolutely necessary.
– Ray Knight

Never look down on anybody unless you’re helping him up. – Jesse Jackson

9
Don’t be afraid to give your best at what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you
conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big one
will tend to take care of themselves. – Dale Carnegie
Do you value the small tasks in life?
Do you ever feel that you will never advance in your life or career and get that
opportunity to do something big? Don’t doubt the importance and impact on doing the
small jobs in life! The key to this quote is being consistent – despite the level (or lack of)
glamour or grandeur on your work. If you must scrub toilets, make them the shiniest,
cleanest darn toilets in the block! In all things, do the best you can, whether someone is
looking or not. If you want to succeed in life, it is important that you have a strong
foundation of consistent, hard work. Don’t dodge the smaller tasks in an effort to hold
out for the glamorous, important jobs. Put value in the small things and you’ll reap a
huge reward when you’re put to the test!

In depths of winter, I finally found there was in me an invincible summer. – Albert Camus
Stepping close to the light at the end of the tunnel.
Hard times are inevitable – death, financial struggle, family problems, the loss of a job, depression – all of these tough times
are just seasons. Abraham Lincoln once said, “this too shall pass”, and you can apply it to both the good times and the bad. The thrill of
a new relationship won’t endure forever, just as the grief of losing a loved one won’t either. So endure the hardships of life, knowing
that time will eventually heal your wounds and will make it through. Think about what struggles have occurred in your life and what they
taught you. No matter how dim the light at the end of the tunnel seems, it is still a light. Each day is an opportunity for that light of
hope to get closer and closer, until eventually the clouds above your head parts and you feel the forgotten sunshine on you again.
Overcoming pain makes you stronger and better equipped to handle the next valley.

Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the

intention of throwing it at someone else. You are the one who
gets burned. – Buddha
Is your life filled with anger?
When someone cuts you off while driving or misses an
appointment you made together, you probably get angry. Often
your imaginations create internal situations and fantasies that
perpetuate those feelings until you are boiling and ready to
take it out on someone else. Truly though, we waste too much of
our time and energy feeling negatively towards all sorts of
things in our lives. When was the last time you went an entire
day without feeling angry? Think about the times you most
frequently feel those tense, frustrated feelings building up in
you and examine the root. If the situation is unavoidable,
you’ve got to force yourself to accept it and move past it.
Maybe you need to sit down with a co-worker and talk to her what
is bothering you – instead of just letting her idiosyncrasies
get under your skin each day. Perhaps you need to find an
alternative route going home to avoid the daily traffic jam that

10
makes your blood boil. Your body and mind will thank you for the
peace such moves provide in the end.

To read without reflecting is like eating without digesting. – Edmund Burke

If you let your head get too big it’ll break your neck. – Elvis Presley
Having confidence vs. Having an ego.
Having confidence in your abilities is an important part of life. But how do you know
when you’re crossing the line into building an ego? Someone who is always bragging about
himself not only sours the relationship with those around him, but also develops his actions into
a pattern that is hard to reverse. Do you alienate the people around with your ego? Have you
crossed the line of confidence to egotistical? Instead bragging about your accomplishments,
discuss how you got there or the people that helped you along the way. This way you can share
your success in an endearing way without making it all about you. Take the focus off of yourself
for a moment and think about how your success can be a tool to help others achieve the same.

If you think twice before speaking once, you will speak twice the better
for it. – William Penn
Think twice, speak once.
The idea of choosing your words carefully sounds easy enough, but how
many times do you end up with your foot in your mouth? Everyone can probably
recall a situation where someone offended them by saying something rude or
out of line. These comments are not only embarrassing, but they can also
damage relationships. Even the way you talk to yourself can be hurtful. Instead
of saying “I can’t”, replace it with “I wish”. Swap “I’m a failure” with “I didn’t
succeed this time”. If you say the wrong thing in front of others, chances are
that people will remember it. Wouldn’t you prefer to be remembered for
something more positive? Once you have said something out loud it cannot be
taken back, and rarely can it be undone even with a tremendous amount of
work.

Fortune favours the bold. – Juvenal

Wash the plate not because its dirty nor you’re told to wash it, but because
you the person who will use it next. – Mother Teresa

11
Attitudes are contagious. Is yours worth catching? – Anonymous
What kind of emotional atmosphere are you creating?
Positive people are almost always natural leaders and motivators. People
gravitate towards them, just as they avoid individuals who continually mope or
complain. Take a look at your own attitude. Is it one that others want to
emulate in their own lives? Instead of jumping to throw in a negative comment,
try to think of something good to say. By no means hold in your feelings, but
remember that no one likes to be surrounded by constant pessimism. Attitudes
are contagious so fill your environment with happiness, enthusiasm, and
optimism!

The future comes one day at a time. – Dean Acheson

Finding victory in the small stuff.
Do your dreams seem far away? Does the distance between you and the finish line deflate
your motivation? Often we forget that goals and dreams are not achieved overnight, but rather in
a series of small steps. Progress towards your goals should also be counted as victorious! Stop
looking at the end result to bring you the greatest joy. Instead, celebrate the ways in which your
life is gravitating towards the desired result. Nothing is guaranteed in life, so make the most of
each day and persevere. Remember that the small things in life build up to the bigger ones.

It’s not the strongest of the species that survive, not the most intelligent,
but the ones most responsive to change. – Charles Darwin
Flexible goal planning.
Does change stress you out? Do you feel anxious not knowing what is
around the corner in life? It is unreasonable to expect the world to adapt for
you; rather you must change to fit the world. Life is without a doubt,
unpredictable. While it is natural to desire stability and consistency, life simply
doesn’t work that way all the time. People pass away, financial situations
change, relationships – all without our consultation! The best solution is to
develop a sense of humour and flexibility. Continue to set long-term goals, but

12
keep your options and means for achieving those goals adaptable, just in case
life decides to throw a wrench in your plans.

It takes 20 years to become an overnight success. – Eddie Cantor

Setting a plan in motion.
Short of winning a lottery? The idea of coming into wealth or power overnight is nearly impossible. Not that it is impossible to be
successful, but it involves a lot of hard work, time, overcoming of obstacles, and dedication to achieve. You can’t expect success to just fall into
your lap. Often, you have to pour time and tears into reaching it. Set your goals, formulate a plan for getting from point A to point B (to C, D, E,
and F), and go for it! Let your perseverance and drive is the foundation for achievement.

We can’t become what we need by remaining what we are. – Max Dupree

Coming together is a beginning; staying together is progress; working together is

success. – Anonymous

The things that are hard to bear are sweet to remember. – Lucius Annaeus Seneca
The sweetness of reflecting on a dream.
Setting goals is easy. The tough part is putting time and hard work into realizing those dreams. The energy you are willing to put
forth to reach your dreams is directly related to the probability of achieving them. Above all, be patient with the situation and with yourself.
Don’t lose your way by being blinded by disappointments, frustrations, and failures. Ponder the goals in your life and the obstacles you might
face. Make appropriate plans to overcome those roadblocks even before they occur. Think of the reward of reflecting on a goal you have
reached, rather than that one you failed to see through. Most big dreams involve big effort!

Plant seeds of expectations in your mind; cultivate thoughts that anticipate

achievement. Believe in yourself as being capable of overcoming all obstacles
and weaknesses. – Norman Vincent Peale

Do not be afraid to ask dumb questions. They are easier to handle than dumb mistakes. –
Unknown

A ship in the harbour is safe. But that’s not what ships are built for.
– Anonymous
Navigating your ship.
Taking the easy way out is, well easy. Human beings naturally stick with
their normal routines because they offer feelings of security. But by staying
in the same routine, you miss out on new opportunities. In 1975, a 3rd year
student at Harvard University decided to drop out and pursue something else.
The student’s name was Bill Gates. He saw an opportunity and took the risk.
While this doesn’t mean that every dream will transform you into a
billionaire, it shows that some of the world’s geniuses took chances to

13
follow their dreams. If you are waiting around for your goals to just fall
into your lap, it could take a while. But your goals are achievable – if
you’re willing to break from the norm and cast your ship down uncharted
waters.

When eating a fruit, think of the person who planted the tree. –
Vietnamese saying
Expressing everyday gratitude.
How often do you remember the people that have made little things possible for
you? Its easy taking our privileges for granted. Today, be more aware of your
surroundings – everything from your shirt, house, food, and car – and who
has made them possible for you. Who has made it possible for you to experience
such wonderful things? One way to let someone know that you truly appreciate
their efforts is to send them a quick note or return the kindness in your own
way.

Our lives are a sum total of the choices we have made. – Wayne Dyer
Own all of your choices.
The choices you make today will determine the path that your life will
take. When you sit back and look at the decisions you’ve made in your life,
are your happy with the route you’ve paved? If you’re not, make a change
today. The next time you make a choice, ask yourself if this decision will
lead you to the path you want to travel along. Set some new goals that will
lead you to your dreams and then plan your course.

The principle is competing against yourself. It’s about self-

improvement, about being better than you were the day before. – Steve Young

Most barriers to your success are man-made and most often, you’re the one who made
them. – Frank Tyger

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort, but where
he stands at times of challenge and controversy. – Martin Luther King Jr.
Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that,
but the really great ones make you feel that you, too, can become great. – Mark Twain

The best place to find a helping hand is at the end of your own arm. – Swedish Proverb
Taking responsibility for your success.

14
We all need support from other people. Love, encouragement, words of advice, and friendship will help you get through the
important stages in your life. When people are in your corner, you feel like taking on any challenge. As important as help from others may
be, though, it all has to start with you. If you’re waiting for someone to solve your problems, or wondering when someone is, “going to do
something about that”, you may be waiting a long time – unless you look at yourself first. Take responsibility for your own situation and
think of what concrete steps you’ll take today to help it. If you’re going to need help, it’s only fair that the person with the most at stake
(you) is willing to make the most effort. When someone is pulling you out of a hole and has grasped your hand, you still must take the first
step to climb out, or you’re just going to be hanging there.

Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do. – John
Wooden

In our lives we have two or three opportunities to be a hero, but almost

every day, we have the opportunity not to be a coward. – Spanish Proverb

One’s man creativity is another’s brain damage. – Roland Fischer

Thinking for you in the face of doubt.
If you accept someone else’s idea of reality and personal limits, you have no control
over your own destiny. You can only go as far as that view will let you. Do you normally
accept things as they are, or do you ask “why” and “what if”? Being an individual and
thinking for yourself – even while others are calling you crazy – takes courage. For many,
trying a new perspective is scary. But if we always stick to the familiar, the known, we never
grow and learn. Don’t be afraid to go against the grain. Ask the tough questions that
everyone else is afraid to ask. Try a new way to do the same thing just to see what happens.
We guarantee you that the world won’t end. You’ll see solutions that nobody else would see
if they’re all looking at the problem the same way. Practice new ways to combine unrelated
objects. After all, somebody had to try peanut butter and jelly for the first time.

Worry is the darkroom in which negatives are developed. – Church Billboard in

Colorado
Is your worrying holding you back?
Once film negatives are exposed to the light of day, they’re ruined. In the same way,
once you see your worries for what they are – self-inflicted doubts – their power disappears.
If you give your doubts and fears too much development time, they’ll take hold and start to
colour all of your thinking in a negative light. Pessimists have more health problems, are less
productive, and are generally unhappier than optimists. People that don’t worry as much
spend more time coping with the realities of life and less time occupied with would-be
problems. To get rid of worry, think more confidently. Know that you can handle anything
that comes along. Know that with loss comes opportunity. Know that things generally have a
way of working out. Stay out of that darkroom and picture something better.

A pocket is no place for a smile. – Blues Traveler

Letting your optimism out.

15
We all have natural talents and abilities that we bring to any situation. Likewise our
motivations are usually different as well. Some are motivated by money and success, others by a
need for recognition, and still others by the simple satisfaction of doing a good job. But whatever
determines how you behave is your attitude. Positive people are often respected, and others
naturally gravitate towards them. Conversely, no one likes being around a chronic downer or
someone who complains all the time. Next time someone says “good morning”, really embrace
the idea! No one can take away the good feelings you have inside, so let them shine!

I have always thought the actions of men the best interpreters of their thoughts. –
John Locke

Do something for somebody every day for which you don’t get paid. –
Albert Schweitzer

The present is what slips by us while pondering the past and worrying
about the future. – Ziggy

Fall seven times. Stand up eight. – Japanese Proverb

Overcoming obstacles one at a time.
Your goals may not come easy. There is no accomplishment without work, and no “win” without
something to beat. It’s easy to get discouraged when roadblocks appear – in fact, it’s only natural. You’ve
invested time and emotion into creating the perfect plan, and then something has to come along and muck
it all up. Sometimes, though, all you have to do to beat that barrier is to get back up and move forward
again. Obstacles are like the wizard behind the curtain – they’re a lot less intimidating once you see them
up close. Next time you take a step back; don’t let guilt pile it on top of your previous “stumbles”. Just take
two steps forward and you’re still farther along than you were before. It doesn’t matter how many walls
you face. You only have to get the better of that last one.

No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. – Aesop

Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow. It empties today of its strength. – Corrie

grows keener with constant use. – Rip Van Winkle

He who walks righteously and speaks what is right; this is the man who will dwell
on the heights, whose refuge will be the mountain fortress. His bread will be supplied,
and water will not fail him. – Isaiah 33:15-16

16
Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, or stand in the way of
sinners, or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delights are in the law of the Lord, and on His law he
meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruits in season
and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. – Psalm 1:1-3

Everybody can be great......because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college
degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart
full of grace. A soul generated by love. – Martin Luther King Jr.

What I am is good enough if I would only be it openly. – Carl Rogers

Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal. –

Henry Ford

The basic difference between an ordinary man and a warrior is that a warrior takes
everything as a challenge, while an ordinary man takes everything either as a blessing or a curse.
– Don Juan

Hugging is.
Hugging is healthy. It helps the immune system, cures depression, reduces stress and
induces sleep. It’s invigorating, rejuvenating, and has no unpleasant side effects. Hugging is
nothing less than a miracle drug.
Hugging is all natural. It is organic, naturally sweet, no artificial ingredients, non-
polluting, environmentally friendly, and 100% wholesome.
Hugging is the ideal gift. Great for any occasions, fun to give and receive, shows you
care, comes with its own wrapping and, of course, fully returnable.
Hugging is practically perfect. No batteries to wear out, inflation-proof, non-flattening,
no monthly payments, theft-proof and non-taxable.
Hugging is an under-utilized resource with magical powers. When we open our hearts
and arms, we encourage others to do the same.
Think of the people in your life. Are there any words you’d like to say? Are there any
hugs you want to share? Are you waiting and hoping someone else will ask first? Please don’t
wait! Initiate! – Charles Faraone

The rules for being human

17
1. You will receive a body. You may like it or hate it, but it will be

yours for the entire period of this time around.

2. You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school

called life. Each day in this school you will have the opportunity to

learn lessons. You may like the lessons or think them irrelevant and

stupid.

3. There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial and

error; experimentation. The “failed” experiments are as much as a

part of the process of the experiment that ultimately “works”.

4. A lesson is repeated until learned. A lesson will be presented to you

in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it,

you can then go on to the next lesson.

5. Learning lessons does not end. There is no part of life that does not

contain its lessons. If you are alive, there are lessons to be learned.

6. “There” is no better than “here”. When your “there” has become a

“here”, you will simply obtain another “there” that will again look

better than “here”.

7. Others are merely mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate

something about another person unless it reflects something you love

or hate about yourself.

8. What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and

resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice

is yours.

9. Your answer lies inside you. The answers to life’s questions lie inside

you. All you need to do is look, listen and trust.

10. You will forget all this. – Cherie Carter-Scott

The future is so powerful and so full of potential that it only comes

Whenever you don’t understand what is happening in your life, you just have to close
your eyes, take a deep breath, and say “Lord, I know it’s your plan, I put my life into your
hands”. – Text message from Sir Rodel Sibal

Sleep for others a form of rest, a routine, refreshment, a quiet moment for the
heart and body, or perhaps a hobby. But, psych tells us that it is one of the most
common forms of escape from loneliness, sadness, frustrations, rejections, and from
almost any problem possible. So the next time, when a friend frequently sleeps, say “if
you need someone, I’m just here, I’ll listen”. Rather than saying “sweet dreams”. – Text
message from Sir Rodel Sibal

Why was David able to stand against a giant when the army of Israel pulled back in fear?
It’s because he saw Goliath not as threat too big to hit, but as a target too big to miss. Most of the
time, it’s not the situation that has the complication. It’s the way we see things that matter very
much in determining our victory. – Text message from Sir Rodel Sibal

A little boy was asked what forgiveness is. He gave a beautiful answer, “it is
the fragrance that flowers give when they are crushed”. – Text message from Sir
Rodel Sibal

Don’t let yourself be stopped by anything from doing what you have always wanted. We are all

afraid of not fitting into this world, of not being accepted. But it only takes for you to look around and figure

out that you are surrounded by people who love you unconditionally. Feel free to make mistakes. Celebrate

life, because even if you shrug them away, the people who love you will always choose to stay. – Text

always do. Because strong walls just shake, but never collapse. – Text message from Aces-
Mabel

Be thankful that you don’t have everything you desire. If you did, what would there be to
look forward to?
Be thankful for the difficult times. It’s during those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles, and they can become your blessings. – Text
message from Melody De Vera

Compatibility is not about being the same person. It is, however, about sharing similar
principles, goals and values, and being able to appreciate each other’s strengths and weak points.
It’s about opening yourself up to embracing someone’s unique identity without losing your own
ego. – Text message from Dianne Michelle Leyva

There are two wolves residing in your heart. One is love and the other is hate. The one

do better things today, you would be the richest one tomorrow. – Text message
from Aces-Mabel

Sometimes, you’ve got to tuck your feelings away ‘til it’s the right
time. Like stuffing coins into a piggybank for a bike you can’t quite afford.
Because you’ll never know, maybe when you crack open that piggybank, you’ll
find out that all this time you haven’t been saving for a bike, but for a
car. Patience is a virtue. – Text message from Aces-Mabel

Him. – Text message from Sir Rodel Sibal

When something goes wrong, it’s more important to decide who’s going to blame for it,
rather than thinking who you are going to blame for it. – Text message from Sir Rodel Sibal

Hearts don’t really break. Nobody gets to break a heart. And no one can. Because
hearts, after the wildest storms, survive and will always stay intact. When you feel pain in the
region of your heart, it’s not the heart that’s breaking, something else does: faith. And then you
stop believing. – Text message from Sir Rodel Sibal

Blindfolded and walking alone, that’s what most of us feel. In a lifetime full
of major risks and decisions, it might seem safer to remain stagnant. But isn’t it
more fulfilling if despite the fear of falling from a cliff and bruised knees, steps
were taken? In the end, losing and mistakes won’t count. What matters most is the
person we turned out to be. Not naive, but wise and beautifully moulded by
experiences. – Text message from Kathleen Joy Medina
